Thank you. Basically I better forget about the Artaeum Takeaway Broth as a daily food.kringled_1 wrote: »While geysers and giant clams are nominally sources for this, it's very time consuming. The vast majority of the pmop I have came from Jubilee boxes, and it's not common enough for me to use it in food I use regularly. I'm told the imperial city alchemy satchels (purchased with tel var) can include them also. They do come in the regular award boxes for daily alchemy writs, but only very rarely.
Sorry but I think it's just bad rng.(...)15 geysers later and not a single mother of pearl.. (...) Am I missing something?

Very cool! Any advice for fishing those, should I be using the fishing buff food and/or be in a group? I believe there's also cp for that, haven't fished much. These can also be farmed via pyandonean bottles caught while fishing in Summerset, and you can then sell the roe and Pyandonean motifs on traders and exchange that gold for more pearl and clam. Better yield than trying to farm them open world IME.
Better still is just farm a good mat route anywhere with lots of alchemy and furnishing mat nodes, sell and buy the pearl and clam you need. Furnishing mats from node farming are very high on PC NA atm, and alchemy mats nearly as lucrative to farm. When the new chapter drops in 5 weeks, furnishing mats will likely go even higher for a time.

I am REALLY curious about this. Not many people fish so it's extremely difficult to find any credible info on the topic. I googled hard, nothing came up, just one guy saying that the food buff does NOT increase the chance for bottles/sacks, only for rare fish. Since I also want roe (and the buff decreases the amount of white fish) then perhaps I should go without the buff. Damn it, wish we had more info.katanagirl1 wrote: »The purple Artaeum fish food and the CP slottables really help for catching the trophy fish for the Master Angler achievement, but I don’t know if they help with things like the Pyandonean bottles.
I was also wondering a while back if you need the fish food for getting things from fishing like the coral furnishings. Does anybody know?

update: after a LOT of research, it seems the food/party/CP slottable do NOT increase the chances for bottles. If anything, they may decrease it.
Indeed! Do keep one of the slottables though, the one that decreases fish bite time. I had a good run yesterday, but I have to admit that fishing is mind-bogglingly boring, they need to rework it and give it its own skill line, maybe even throw in a fishing event where you go out with a bunch of people on a boat ala FFXIV. (the only thing I liked about that game tbh)katanagirl1 wrote: »If that is true, then I would guess that it does not increase the chances of getting furnishing items even though they are green, blue, purple, or gold. I was just thinking that since the fish were green and blue that maybe it worked the same.
That is good news for both you and me then. We can fish for those without worrying about that awfully expensive fish food then. I guess you should turn off the CP slottables too, or in my case just don’t slot them.
