Crown crates: From 15 I got only one Epic, nothing better - guarantee something better please

I have almost never bought any crown crates, and I just wonder how the hell they are selling them when this is the result - I will never buy them again if this really is what to expect. I am a bit ashamed of expecting better to be honest, and I know making a post about it is silly at best, but I am just really disappointed. I hoped at least to get gems to purchase the celestial vortex (100 gems), and maybe if I was lucky also the Logger costume (40 gems).

15 celestial crates yielded:

Nothing above Epic at all

Epic items:
- 1 Anthorbred Avalanche Dog - (a great pet that I am very happy with :)

Superior items:
- 3 Elder Dragon Hunter Wolf Pup
- 2 Fortune's Anvil Body Markings
- 1 Mind-Shriven Cat
- 1 Orcrest Rathound
- 1 Scorianite Gladiator Bracers
- 1 Scorianite Gladiator Belt
- 2 Stargazer
- 1 Xivilai Cruelean Linework Brand
- 1 Xivilai Cruelean Linework Visage
- 2 Xivilai Rubyfire Linework Visage

The rest was fine and common gem trash

Before the expected replies start flooding with 'It's pure gambling, what did you expect?' and all that sort what I suggest is that 1/x crates would guarantee at least an epic item with maybe a 20% chance of it being a legendary or some such thing. It is quite frustrating to get such awful rng, and when it all is unmodified rng - some people will. Some of those people will probably not buy crates again - I hope.

I don't believe ZOS will ever do this, as the problem with this kind of modification is of course that getting certain items is what drives some people to spend incredible amounts of money, and this is where MMO's do their lucrative whale catching.

An alternative to the abovementioned suggestion is to add crown crates back into the daily login rewards again. In 2018 there was an average of 4,5 crates given in daily rewards pr. month.

it would be nice if they started adding crates back to daily logins, even if it was only 1 or 2

but i highly doubt they will do this because endeavors now exist, which allow you to buy anything directly from the crates (although at high currency cost)

as of yesterday i am up to almost 20,000 endeavor seals, so i actually have a little extra left to spend on items (saving 16k for when i find the one radiant apex i actually want)

Welcome to gambling, where previous results have zero influence on future results. Crown crates are only there to make you spend money, they are not there to make you happy and/or satisfied.

I know how you feel, I have stopped buying crates unless it is from an older crate season where I own lots of things from, shortly said just for gem farming.
If I buy 15 crates from new crates I don't expect anything, like this I won't get disappointed.
I am so glad the datamined coral crates are not for me, this will save me some money or gold.

I was glad about this too, until I forgot myself and made a Maormer-themed sorcerer and now I need all the ocean/coral things...

My one consolation is that we can still buy crown store items with gold even if inflation is crazy.

I do this too - most of them have been way to flashy for my taste, but if one comes along that I really like, I feel safer having the seals saved up for the occasion :)

Hope springs eternal. I avoid crates. Saw the writing on the wall from the start.

me to lol, i think since crates have been a thing, ive bought them like twice

once was when the system was first implemented, and got garbage so never did

the only other time was the celestial crates, i actually had interest in a lot of the items in there, only bought 15 crates expecting to be disappointed and got a few interesting things but nothing of real value (i also only needed a few gems to be able to just buy a few of the celestial rifts from what i had saved up so this was my reasoning for the crates lol)

with the endeavors i have even less reason to buy them if i can directly buy stuff i actually have an interest in lol
