Can we Extend the Explorer's Event?

The last few days have been difficult for both people who play ESO and the people at ZOS who work hard to make the gaming experience great for everyone.

I just want to say that I am so impressed at how resilient the ESO community has been with the issues that appeared with the latest patch and new DLC dungeons. Although people love new content (we really do!), they don't love the bugs that come with such cool expansions. I am sure people at ZOS try their best to limit bugs from occurring, and a lot of testing and re-testing is done before things are released onto the main servers, but thanks to Murphy's Law issues will happen regardless of how much we attempt to limit them. That's just the nature of life :/

Again, reiterating how how impressed I am at how the community got together and formed groups for public dungeons in the cities that contained the Undaunted Enclaves and how patient my guilds were with me when I had longer than average loading screen time.

When I found random people to queue into a dungeon with, I found the quality of the dungeons were better than usual because these were the players who were trying to get their daily reward and transmute crystals for the dungeon. I even got to help a friend duo the new dungeons (with Mirri and later another friend) and was skeptical we could do it by ourselves, but when asked to help, I had to try because my friend wanted the new ascending tide gear for his tank build (really cool set by the way!).

Instead of negativity and frustration while doing events with my guild, everyone was understanding and chill about waiting a few extra minutes, people laughed about it and we just waited for people to finish loading and went on with the guild events as if no biggie.

Of course, if these issues continued it would become tiresome, and hence why the game is getting more maintenance done to it at the this very hour to correct the issues that have been affecting everyone on all levels. I know that the ESO community is resilient and will continue to play and support ESO and ZOS while the issues are being corrected. That's just how amazing the ESO community is IMHO. The amount of toxicity in this game is far lower than any game I've ever played or anywhere I've experienced a social setting of where humans come together and "share their thoughts."

In the last few days, it has been hard on everyone, especially people who can only play ESO for a few moments out of their day.

Could we maybe get a few days extension on the Explorer's Event for those who missed out due to technical issues?

I would guess that right after the explorer's event, we're getting the Jester event, then the Anniversary event right after that. There may not be much time to extend anything without overlapping. Those are all double xp anyway. I'm not sure how impactful double nodes are to much of the population.

The Explorer's Event XP buff does stack with the pie/cake/brew/mead XP buffs, though, so there would be a noticeable benefit.

At this point in the game, I think the current bonuses of the Explorer's event could just be permanent.
Being able to XP faster is a time gainer and at least it gives us something to do.
I'm sorry but the rest is pretty static/poor performing at the moment.

Like I said: Roleplay and perhaps upping a character is still my only viable option at the moment and we know why (just look through my old posts for context).

    Tiny shameless self-pitying rant:

I had to work a ton of hours for most of the days of this short event. Today was my only day off where I could take advantage of it, and I was looking forward to it the entire time. Now my day off is here and..... this.

I has a sad, and would very much like an extension.

That said... I'm not the type to get angry and make demands. I am completely understanding of the stress and abuse the ZOS peeps have to endure when this kinda thing happens, I know it's not their fault, and I certainly don't want to contribute to it! Just wanted a small opportunity to say poo, this sucks for me, but I can get over it now that I vented so..... c'est la vie, I guess!

It's been pretty hard to fully benefit from the event given limitations with group finder over the weekend. And then today is another fail. Not sure what's going on over there, but it feels like bad management making some really poor choices.

I definitely think they should extend the event given the difficulties people have had even logging in to the game- so many who would have played couldn't due to the trouble they've had. In all honesty, due to the latency and various bugs, I don't think I made any more exp than I normally would have in spite of buffs and the bonus simply because I can't move fast enough through the game to do so.

I also would like to enjoy the mat gathering bonuses...but well, logging in and rubberbanding all over the place made that pretty hard.

No, it’s good that you shared your experiences and thoughts! This is exactly what I wanted to bring up. There are people who love ESO and who play the game when they can but they could not benefit from this event because of the technical difficulties. The event was less than a week and these issues affected a ton of players who don’t have a bunch of spare time to play the game.

It's only a few more days they would be adding. Maybe they will. They have been known to extend events particularly due to maintenance. So extending the explorer event even another day wouldn't be unheard of. But a few more days would be very nice. Especially since the dungeon queue didn't really function for the whole event.

Exactly. I could not count how often people on EU server could not log in or missed out tickets from actual relevant events, which never got extended even when we actually had problems for days.
What we mostly got to hear was that EU people complain too much and we should just suck it up.

Try play on EU that suffer more from offline, more laggy, got the most problems. Pretty much all our events ends right before our primetime starts so many people miss out on their tickets on the final day.

Just enjoy you got the more stable server.

You're lucky it's "just" the explorer event.

Exactly. I could not count how often people on EU server could not log in or missed out tickets from actual relevant events.

Ah, that sucks a lot. I play NA so I had no idea people on EU missed out on tickets and had issues logging in.

I try my best to contact customer support whenever I experience a bug or a problem because I know I’m not the only one who will go through with it. Customer service has been good with helping me deal with the issues I had. They don’t always reply back but I notice changes like when I lost my double xp, I noticed the daily random dungeons gave me the xp bonus for a few runs compared to having only one run.

That said, I hope someone at ZOS sees these comments and that more will be done to help EU players. Honestly, when the entire ESO community benefits, we all benefit.

As a side note, I hope we’re able to play together one day (like a server merge)! It would be nice to meet people in the EU or who play on the EU server.

This is true, I only did dungeons on the first day because our group wanted to remain a group and continue doing them. But as for the undaunted pledges, I have not done any for my other characters that still need to level up their undaunted skill-line. The only reason I am not complaining is because the PvP event gave me a lot of transmute crystals.

It would be nice if the transmute crystal requirement was lowered for a brief amount of time for those who could not get as many crystals as they wanted or needed for transmutation in the last few days.

Frankly I think the drop rates on materials relevant to furnishings (mundane runes, Heartwood, etc) should *permanently* be at the level they are during the event. It's the first time they've felt balanced to what furnishing recipes actually require.

I’m always grateful for events like this because mat prices drop. They can get so high if they are not kept in check by events with double harvesting.

It would be nice if they extended it, or even better, held it after the Jubilee when the servers will hopefully be more stable than they are now. If this emergency maintenance doesn't really fix anything, there's no point in extending the event because a majority of people still won't be able to take part. It would be best to just have this event in a few months.
