Mail processing is broken

I can't get hireling emails opened, contents taken and the message deleted. After 10-15 the process just stops taking keys. I can't even use /quit.

I was going to make a new post about this but saw OPs.

I'm not having OP's problem exactly, but my inbox is saying it's 'full' when there are only 3 or 4 hireling emails in it on certain alts.

Then I go to the next alt and the missing hireling emails from the previous alt show up in that alt's inbox.

Then I go to the next alt's inbox and it happens again - I have 5 crafting alts and this is happening to all of them.

I had to relog the character and then it cleared for me, even using lazy writ auto-take&delete

But I had to quit because as soon as I tried to logout on 2nd character it locked up. I'll wait til this afternoon to give the surge some time to hit the servers

Slightly different issue but my mailbox will say it has messages (from the hirelings and presumably guild sales) and then the messages aren't actually in the box. They display above the chat and under number of new messages but no actual mail in the box. Changing zones doesn't seem to fix it but logging on a bit later does.
