Very high latency past hour or so. DDOS or something else?

I normally have 90 or so latency (PC NA from NA west coast) but for the past hour I've been getting frequent prolonged spikes up to 999+ and when it settles down It's in the 190-210 range and never goes below that.

I've checked my connection with other Eastern US sites, reddit, etc. done speed tests and all is fine elsewhere. The problem is just with ESO. Even on the launcher is taking extra long for the "Play" button to appear.

Anyone else experiencing this now?

    My latency is usually 100-125, also PC NA from west coast, same latency spikes for the last few hours. It's unplayable. Has this game ever been ddos'd? Hard to believe anyone would care enough.

    Severe lag and frequent disconnects. PC NA - very unplayable atm. Just posting as I try to re-connect to server.
    Now I'm in a log in queue. Sigh.

    IDK where you guys are but I'm in the Greater Vancouver, BC, araea.

    I did a tracert and the problem seems to be between Seattle and Dallas.

    I actually don't know much about how the HW works for internet route but I'm guessing that connection is not something they control.

    The specific problematic (for me) IP address is 4.69.210.141

    Not likely as it would affect the performance of all three geographic servers if the server farm was being hit. It would be extremely widespread and everyone on those three servers would be impacted.

    I'm in the Calgary area and it is just brutal. Nothing wrong with my internet - aside from this game.

    Your local internet can be fine and the game can be fine but your connection to the game can be abysmal. There are about 1800 miles between Calgary and the NA servers. Lots of switches and routers and more to deal with and each could be an issue. I also think there is a service we are routed through that would add more distance for some people

    History shows us that there have been regional issues affecting performance for a geographic area, but again if it was an issue at the server farm everyone on those three servers would be impacted. The forums would be lit up with many threads.

    It could be akamai - I just tried logging into my bank (which also uses akamai protection), and it took FOREVER, like nearly 10 minutes....

    This is the service I mentioned.

    However, it would not be an issue with that service but something between people and that service. My ping rate is 110 which is on the high side of normal for me. That indicates a regional issue, not a problem at Akamai or the server farm in Texas.

    Well, I get that. I've been playing from this location for seven years though, and this is extremely unusual and noteworthy. I never have lag/latency like this in pve. So it is some kind of regional issue, but,for me, it is specific to connecting to this game, and only this game.

    PC NA west coast Canada at 5:30 pm local time , very bad swings in latency, multiple seconds to open a container and NPC's and players jumping in positions around the screen. Tracert was 12 hops, approx 400 milliseconds to Akamai in LA, then nothing but time outs on requests.

    was having that issue yesterday at night, ping jumping to 999+ while alone indoors, just gave up after restarting ui/game/modem
    was able to play today in early afternoon normally

    I've never had any performance issues until update 33. Now every evening I start having very long loading screens when trying to go into my houses. I even disconnected once while running Maelstrom Arena, which is very rare for me.

    Is this being looked into?

    Yeah can we get a statement on this? The group queue is still broken, you can't get into the game half or more of the time, mail, armory, grouping, etc etc its all broken and terribly unstable. I couldn't even get to my player home without the server seemingly exploding. What was the point of this update if it was just going to make every other aspect of the game unplayable? And other then a statement on the group finder (still broken) it has been radio silence.

    As PC EU works normally it was apparently not the update itself, there must be an issue with the US server itself. Except there would have been different updates which I doubt.
