So after the update I logged into the game with my main and after that I do crafting with my alts.
Second character I loaded with was my thief and I worked with him on the Black Market Mogul achivement,taking a look at it I saw he had it unlocked already?
How? My main character had a progress of 250k gold aprox on the achievement and my thief had aprox 550k which makes it a total of 800k more or less.
How can the achivement be unlocked when I did not even log into the game with any other character besides the 2? ( my other alts did never sell stolen goods so it could never be one million in total anyway.)

It was a goal I set to myself which nos is completed even when it should not.

I know account wide achivements where implemented but still, how can an achievement unlock when it is not fullyfied even counting all progress from all characters together?

Who knows? A lot of people warned for all kinds of bugs and glitches with the system, and tried desperately to call out on that, but alas, to no avail. And now here we are.

How sure are you of those numbers. For me the cumulative achievements added things correctly, including Black Market Mogul which I still haven't fully earned.

It seems like AWA is bugged in a fashion that is far worse than we all thought, so many tried testing so many things to see what was broken but it seems like this slipped through the cracks. I can only wonder what else will be messed up as this is.

It almost sounds like the system is possibly miscalculating the achievement or even counting another characters achievement more than once to auto complete it.

Its sort of like, you logged in once on your main, the system did the check for what they had completed, and added it (Approx 250k)

Then, when you logged on your thief, it checked his achievement, (Approx 550k) added it, then checked if any other characters had it AGAIN that you had logged in on, and added your mains progress a second time, since adding a second 250kish would reach roughly 1mil.

I could be wrong about how this works, as I don't know how its coded, but it almost seems like that's what's happening.

Kesstryl has in fact been one of the most eloquent posters about this implementation of AWA on the 91 page thread on the PTS forums, warning of issues and bugs and problems.

Which has basically been ignored.

I apologize for the cynical comment about the Account Wide Achievements update at the expense of your thread. Myself and many others tried to warn the community about this, and about the many bugs that were coming with it. ZOS knows the wider community doesn't read PTS and they kept locking out threads that tried to bring this up to the wider community. They wanted everyone to post in their official feedback thread, but without threads in the General forum bringing it up, most people didn't even know to look there to see what was coming. We tried to hold ZOS accountable, pleaded with them to fix the bugs, to hold back on this update until they refined and smoothed the system, all to no avail. Those of us who tried to fight for the integrity of the game and prevent this being launched with all the bugs are feeling very cynical. If you encounter bugs, definitely report them. I don't know what else to do at this point to save the game from this horrible update.

You didn't read right, OP knows about AwA and all but they're still around 200k short of the required 1m after logging on two separate characters. It's a bug that it's unlocking without the requirements actually being met.

...just got Black Market Mogul on my mule, Cargo Mistress, who I'm pretty sure has never done anything but writs & a couple of starting quests. Some holiday quests, probably.


So, yeah.

It's not adding things up right.


(I'm pretty sure I wasn't anywhere near getting that one. I've done stealing & fencing, but not at the level you'd need to do to get BMM)

I wonder if this is a case of the achievement being awarded at a lower tier. I believe there was a bug with at least one other achievement (one of the Undaunted maybe) where the achievement was awarded at the middle tier and ended up in a weird limbo state. Someone who posted in the feedback thread on PtS may better recall the details, possibly @tomofhyrule or @silvereyes ?

For what it's worth, after the 6 characters I logged in with this morning, Black market mogul progress for me is roughly where I expected it (I didn't save the exact numbers for characters that I have never really used for thieving, but so far it's averaging about 2-4k each). I have another secondary thief with another 85k that I haven't loaded in, and then my main thief was at just under 800k. If all calculates correctly, I'll be very close but not quite done after every character is loaded. I'll edit this post with an update later today.
Updating: everything tracked as expected, although my non-thief characters seem to have contributed slightly more than I had anticipated and I hit black market mogul earlier than I expected.

IDK, the General vs PTS forum argument seems a bit nonsense to me. Am I just the only forum user that only uses the Recent section of the forum, and in effect, I view all threads that are on offer and not just some limited subsection?
