Wood Elf female using male walk/jog/run animations post-patch

This is a weird one, I thought animations had been updated and was begrudgingly moaning about it to my friends because I really don't like the male animations for movement, they look very stilted to me. None of them knew what I was talking about though and after relogging to a Dark Elf and High Elf alt I can confirm that only the Wood Elf has this.

Weird bug, I assume? It can't be intentional to give one race different animations to all of the others like that. It struck me immediately as I logged in.

There's also a bug with the camera for Wood Elves I can't replicate with other races; when the camera hits an object (say, the inside wall of a house), it's meant to smoothly zoom in to accommodate for the collision - but post-update it now immediately clips into first person. I couldn't replicate this on other races.

Happens to me with Khajit and Imperial too so I don't think this is race-related.

Is particularly obnoxious while sneaking.

Oh, does it? That's interesting; my friends play a Breton and a High Elf, and I logged a Dark Elf to verify, and none of those characters had any of these issues.

I was using the exact same addons on my Dark Elf as my Wood Elf, and I've tried both with all addons disabled, all active, updating etc; nothing fixed it on my end, so I'm sure it's not an addon-related fault.

I didn't notice because i use a personality. well, I rechecked and even with a personality 'brassy assassin' the run is male on a female wood elf. the 'treasure hunter' personality with carrying a torch masks the bug

Thank you!! I will also addend; I noticed that when I stop running (as in, the jog), my character slips into a heroic stance for a split second before going to their regular idle. I don't know if I'm allowed to link videos here but I have one to highlight what I mean; it's probably related, but just in case it's not and is a separate issue.

Oh thank god I am not the only person who had this, and ZOS addressed it. I felt the same way and pretty much no one in zone noticed a thing, and felt I was screwed. Seeing the male animations not go away, and under the assumption, was an intentional change, made my dysphoria kick up very badly but clearly saw it was a bug after some messing around, and tested it with a friend. Got video evidence. (at time of posting the HD render is processing still so is blurry but can make it out) She (my friend) noticed it as well only on my character. I assume once she logs onto her bosmer's she will see it as well. My non bosmer characters however as stated, were fine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMy41YdyxCU

True, it does. Just rather we not have to get around it like that, and could use whatever personality, or none, for the normal animations, brassy assassin for me as it has normal female animations but the dif. stance and such.

Yeah, I don't consider personalities a real workaround; part of why I want the right animation back is that it just doesn't feel right for my character and using the wrong personality would too.

That said I've taken the time to finally crack around to alts, so silver linings

Basically me, and what I been doing whenever I log on... or just playing something else besides ESO

I'm glad there is a fix in the works but I do wish there was a bit more of a timeframe than 'incremental' update being said.
Looking at patch history some patches have a gap of a week to a month in distance.
If this is how long it will take for this issue to be resolved then all I can say is that I will be disappointed.
I know I can just play my character and get over the animations but I feel it spoils my character, the immersion kinda being killed, the only reason I am a little 'salty' about this is because the double exp is on, and I don't wanna play if the developmental part of my character is filled with bugs.

Just my two cents I wanted to get out. Still overall the update 33 is great but I do wish a fix for some smaller things like this would come faster, and I do understand the amount of background work that needs to happen to ship a patch out.

All and all good work ZOS, eso is one of the few mmo's I want to stick with and have a interest in lore-wise.

Edit: Original post was march 19th, it is now the 25th with no real indication of when this might be fixed, I am fairly disappointed but I suppose complaining will do no good. I seriously hope this is fixed in the next patch.

Welp, today's patch didn't fix it. ;-; I was extremely hopeful it would given it seems like a thing that'd be very simple to sort out.

I have not been playing ESO to care enough anymore. Just something I have come to semi accept. Been in mood for funny block game so hopefully, they get to fixing it at some point, right?... probably not.

God damnit, it's been a month ;-;

I usually hate saying things like "How hard can it be?" because I don't know the realities of development or how muddled the code is or whatever on their side, but seriously it's just a case of the wrong animations being used.

Is there a way deeper cause or is this just deemed so low priority it'll get fixed as part of the Chapter's patch or something?

Mood. Would not be surprised if it just is not fixed qt all, forever Bosmer women having different animations over other races. More of a "this is just broken and it's sad" over "I don't like these animations" at this point, later still applying... and former apples to many things in the game xP

Yeah I use Brassy Assassin so my run is the male one due to it using the default...

I have a few personalities but I don't use any of them because I just like the default for my character.

It's amusing that animations are so important that they sell them at far too high a price let's be honest but apparently not important enough to fix when they break for a month.
