But I'm not quitting. I'm just going to move over to streaming services now. I've tested both Stadia and Xcloud and both seem to run fine in my different tests. And I like not having to download stuff. So let me know your experience with ESO in the cloud

I'm on pc, so stadia as the only one for pc accounts (for now, if they don't decide to allow GeForce Now again - which was fine at closed beta).
Not ditching my pc install for ESO on Cloud (addons).

In general with minimum required speeds:

*Stadia is fine for ESO for "goofing" around. Can be free if game is purchased or 10 euro a month with better picture quality, library is "meh"... On 20Mb is fine for single and multi. Runs on android or everything that can have chrome or edge. (image quality depends on network speed and device).

    * Xbox ultimate (cloud included) is fine at around 50Mb speed for racing and multis, around 20Mb for single player. Good library, new releases almost immediately, 13 euro a month. Browser, android, pc, xbox. (if networks speed is fine has good image quality).

*PS Now - even at around 15Mb is fine for single player. Haven't tested multi, for me personally library is ok, 60 euro 12 months subscription. Only on Windows PC and PS. (surprisingly good image quality for lower network speed required)

*GeForce Now - Doesn't have ESO (!) - on 20 is fine, playable(ish) at 15Mb. One hour free or subscription. No actual library (some free to play) - uses games owned on Steam, Epic, GOG, Ubi, EA. Browser, android, etc. (runs stable, image quality depends on internet speed and subscription plan).

Goofing around lol , ya I have to admit I didn't try any group content or even Cyrodiil, though I saw a video of a guy having a blast in a campaign and he was on stadia , so I think it should work ok lol.
But depends on certain factors of course. On top of ZOS having those antiquated architecture for their servers.
I enjoy casual play but I also have done a lot of endgame content like vet trials and such ,so I will be testing that on cloud eventually

If my account is on console most likely would have switched to cloud too...

I was a Day 1 player on PS4. When my console died in Nov of 2020, I got a Stadia and started over. The CP grind isn't nearly as bad as it was before. I was able to get to ~1100CP without much grinding. The graphics are close to PS4/XboxOne level. No add ons but I've had them anyway. The controller isn't bad and I got used to it fairly quickly. As far as lag, I mainly PVP and would only feel the lag when others were home and using a lot of internet with streaming and playing games online with the Switch.

So pvp a pretty normal experience then? Considering the you had to share your own wifi source

Losing all your stuff is a pain (mounts, housing, etc.). The grind is not a huge problem, but losing all these is really annoying, since "account wide" is not "account wide".

Well my pc isnt that young. I have no idea how stadia even works. How much it costs,
But if it could let me play division 2 one day when i can afford it, i wouldn't mind.

But the important thing here is my opinion on eso.
I play eso like i would play division or any open world game.
I like 100% every zone, it feels amazing.
I wouldnt mind if eso had more collectibles.
    And the quests more uniqueness.
I also enjoy vet dlc dungs. They are just insanely hard, but once you finish them and see the reward...it feels so so amazing.
The combat in eso was never that good for me. But this new update will change that a bit.

So what my biggest issues are... The glitches. That might never be fixed.

Uh...what? Unhealthy? How is it unhealthy? You could literally say the same thing about any hobby. Anything is bad in excess. If you don't think playing ESO in your free time is "healthy" there are any number of other things you can do, but don't imply that playing a game in general is bad for you. Just like everything else, you do it in moderation.

I've also never heard anyone bring up this concern, so I don't think as many people as you think feel this way.

    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts
Kiju Veran: Khajiit Stamblade DPS - Ex-Fighters Guild Suthay who likes to punch things, nicknamed Tinykat
Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends
Celeroth Calatare: Bosmer <insert role here> - Shapeshifting Bosmer with enough sass to fill Valenwood

    PC - NA - EP - CP1000+

I'm using Shadow Tech, which gives you basically your own private windows PC in the cloud that you can use like you would use your own private pc at home. I must say it's kindda costly since they just doubled the price last summer (30 euro), and lately there have been some stability issues. But all in all I'm satisfied with the service.
I tried stadia but I'm a mouse/keyboard guy, never owned a controller and not interested in starting that now.

Gaming addiction is a real thing, but there are other factors going into it other than "I play games too much so I'm addicted".

Hard drives are cheap, cloud require very good internet all the time.
Yes it you have an craptop cloud might work better.
Cloud might also be nice if you travel a lot and don't have an gaming laptop or on console.
But again the hotel wifi has to be good.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I tried stadia and xcloud on my phone and it was fine. So there's potential for it. It's just it makes you wonder how much data it eats up. So ya, that's problematic in itself

Stadia on mobile data was something like 3gb/hour (i think it had auto-switch for metered connections). There was something for GFN and xbox on mobile data too but dont remember it.
On unlimited connection all are around 10gb/hour at 1080p and something like 15 - 20gb at 4k, but it goes also to device to get max quality at lowest bandwidth (scaling, streaming optimized, hdr, dolby vision...).

And all this compared to something like 500Mb for hour on installed game...

My problem with Stadia was 30 FPS. And in intense situations; that doesn't mean it holds string at 30 either Is ESO able to run more than 30 FPS now?

It still renders at 30fps (in-game fps counter).

Ya I'm not sure. I know on Xcloud where I played ESO, I initially had A LOT of latency , so I toggled from the default Fidelity mode to Performance mode, and gameplay seemed perfect after.

I also just ran around overland area in the Rift , and killed tigers and stuff , didnt experience much input lag. I did at times.
One thing I really liked though was the super fast login and loading speed

Ya, stadia has probably the best stream tech out there , they have all of Google's YouTube knowledge ( decades worth) , so I'm not surprised it works.
Digital Foundry even admitted that stadia offered the best version of Cyberpunk 2077 on day one.

Ok so I went a tried ESO on stadia. 75% of the time, game runs smooth. The rest it just goes crazy, starts to pixelate , then latency and lag hell. I'm on mobile data , so that can vary. And ESO being mmo and it being ZOS horrible servers...it's always a mystery what's happening.
Either way. It was mostly playable. But so sad how still unreliable cloud gaming is. Like when it works , great. But I guess it's still to early to be expecting anything great out of this , unless u have direct feed to some fast AF wifi.
So disappointing. Oh well. I guess this could really be farewell to ESO after all. At least for a long time. Idk

Ok, another update. More testing. I am testing stadia a bit more and I decided to test overall stability while moving around. Using mobile data. I decided to take a local bus way around the city , from one city to another city.
Performance was stuttery at times but overall I was able to level up my character a few levels , start a quest and do a brief play through.
The reception for a phone can bounce up and down in this way, but I was able to play through , with NO disconnects. Kinda amazing. Now and then the screen gets pixelated for a few seconds, or so, off and on. And audio and movements would stutter here and there. But I was still able to keep movement forward in content.
I was also shocked at the fact that I was literally on a bus, flying down the road and playing ESO on my phone haha. With touch screen controls also lol.
I will continue the tests with this mobile data

There are a lot of threads about ESO on Stadia if you are interested in seeing a lot of feedback concerning that service.

One thing anyone considering playing ESO via a cloud service is data usage. To play in HD, as many of us do, is constantly streaming an HD moving. For a heavy player that is some serious data usage and some people have limits on that.

Ya, I actually wouldn't mind having an option for DVD quality , I think that's 480p. I don't need HD per say. But the stadia app doesn't yet give us that option to toggle quality , just 1080 or 720. There big thing is "get it in HD , ya, our service is great" but I like how YouTube lets me pick stream quality. I wish the stadia app did the same.

By the way I was playing around a bit ago, fast traveled to Khanerthis Roost, looking for chests to find Training armor and stuff. It was a sub par to okay experience. Mostly just the input lag is annoying. I don't mind the slight picture pixelation. I will take gameplay performance over picture quality any day.

Xcloud is still not an option for ESO since Microsoft took it down to fix an issue with ESO disconnecting players. So they said it's going to be a few months. Yikes. So it may be half the year at worst. Not a good thing.

I'm in the process of finding a new MMORPG though. Don't wanna leave ESO, but it's definitely at its lowest point in a long time. Kinda sad. Still trying to play it but I think the game has probably run it's course. It had great quests and stuff and it's a lot of fun just farming materials in the wild. U can just get lost and immerse yourself. I love that. But idk. Just not excited about how things are going at all. There's so little communication with the players it's excruciating for so many.

Moving to cloud was a way to distance myself from the game. So that I could play it in small sessions. But the performance is so iffy on mobile , and xcloud shutting down ESO play for who knows how long is just depressing and sad.

Ok new update. Been playing a Warden character and recently ran around storm haven and other places , and I'm at level 6 now. Ive had no issues. This time I connected a controller. (Touch controls "work" but u can't really play that great with touch controls )
And I have had very little to no latency or stutters. I even went to a couple populated areas with lots of people standing and running around and everything was smooth.
The potential for cloud gaming is certainly there for ESO. Soon I will be working on checking out group and PVP content to further my tests, like Imperial City Sewers ( ya idk lol but I'ma try to see what happens )
I was also able to join a guild, and also did some chatting in the world text zone chat.
All seemed to be running fine.
Great thing about Stadia is that ESO is essential a console UI version of the game , and it pairs perfectly with Xbox and PlayStation controllers automatically. Excellent. They also have support for keyboard and mouse I believe.
On top of that , the cross play with PC is outstanding. Lots of people on. And as of now, the performance was smooth, responsive and nice. Killing enemies ,roll dodging, weaving between spells and light attack etc. All that felt great.
You can forget ur playing on the cloud. And on a phone with mobile data, that's impressive. This is all being done with 4G speeds. Can't wait til 5G safely rolls out, and cloud gaming should be a real breeze when that happens

Eso on xcloud is pretty good but there's a bug where you get disconnects (in game, not from the xcloud server) when changing zones, sadly, since february, they removed ESO from xcloud, stating that it would come back in a couple of months when they fixed the issue.
