Tempest Island Bugged Door

This has been going on for months. And it wasn't until tonight while farming Tempest Island I finally had enough and figured out where this NPC sits. Then found the above thread from last Sept which apparently didn't get the dev's attention. This is a bug imo and needs to be fixed. Most people, including myself until tonight don't realize we cant get to the next room because we are in combat. And the NPC is on the other side of the wall. Hard to find btw because most of the time it is invisible. I only noticed it due to it bugging out and momentarily warping through the wall. But then warped back on the other side. And even then when looking over the wall it isnt always visible. I had to use an AOE to kill it and it only hit on the first wave not subsequent waves. Screenshot below

    Was in a PUG few days ago and we all had to throw down aoes and spam jump to be able to make damage over the wall . What more dynamic gameplay can we expect from ZoS 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    I didnt even know we were in combat for why the door wouldnt open until my companion kept trying to buff\heal me. Then looking at my inventory screen saw I was in combat. In PUGS when this happens we had to sneak to get it to open the door. And I thought the door was bugged at times. Nobody explained it was due to this NPC being in combat. Last night I was unable to sneak and the learned this NPC is the cause of the issues. Devs need to fix this annoying bug imo. Remove the NPC or move it so it isnt behind a wall.

    Or just remove doors altogether: there's quite a few historical issues with dungeons and doors.

    In all seriousness, npcs like this who end up clipping themselves out of the map and only holding agro really should be moved or removed.

    The trick with this mob is that's its skipped due to it being on the other side of a wall , so you don't even see him 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Pff, no, he totally starts the fight on the wall and just happens to wander off the other side, duh. Just need to kill him in the .5s it takes for him to do that.

    This mob really needs to be moved so he doesn't jump over the wall. Last time it happened I had to jump down the waterfall to the beach below and then run all the way back up through the dungeon to where I had started. He loses his aggro and allows you to pass through door.

    I've mentioned this and many other dungeon bugs only to be completely ignored by ZOS after many many patches.

    Tempest isn't the only dungeon that bugs out like this with an untargetable NPC on the other side of a wall/solid object.

    There's a necromancer in Blackheart Haven that sometimes glitches through the wall when you're in the corridor before the Hollow Heart fight that keeps you from opening the door to the final boss.

    And just yesterday, when running vet Fang Lair for the pledge, we had an add glitch into the pile of bones in the middle of the room. To make matters worse, it was an add that had to be killed in order for the door to the next part of the dungeon to unlock so we couldn't just wait it out and our group spent over 5 minutes spamming AOEs trying to get them to tick on the add so we could finish and clear the dungeon. Took longer to kill this one dude than any of the actual boss fights.

    Same thing in Cradle of Shadows - one of trash mobs spawns inside the ceiling and keeps the group in combat forever, it's impossible to damage it even with AOEs:

    I experienced bugged mob in vRG as well, it spawns on top of a building during first trash pack (and sometimes walks inside the building which makes it untargetable) but have no screenshot of it.

    Looks like ESO`s program to move things around is running amuck. I state that because the items such as chests, troves and NPC`s have been moved from regular spots. Map pins has discovered several new places since the last update. Maybe ESO needs to turn this off and see how the games runs.

    I believe this was fixed. Been running Tempest Island and this mob is now properly jumping down off the wall to the inside.

    If by "fixed" you mean in the past day, that's possible. However every time I run this dungeon the problem happens to my group. The last time I noticed it was a couple nights ago. And there are still other doors in other dungeons that have many problems as well.
