Microsoft supports disclosing drop rates for Lootboxes.

I worry a lot about people who can't afford to be whales who fall for the gambling-like mechanics of loot boxes in general.

So, with me becoming aware of some newish frustration about ESO not disclosing the official drop rates, I looked it up, and read (briefly) that microsoft is pledging to make sure all games on its platform disclose loot crate item drop rates.

This, isn't a complete solution to my worries, but it's a start. So, I assume that with Zenni being owned by Microsoft it would be subject to the same rules. It only makes sense, and anything less would fuel anti-microsoft feelings from those people who care/pay attention.

So to head off those feelings, maximize good will. Just let us know when that will be implemented. It shouldn't be too difficult as a base idea, but extra care should also be taken to make sure the information is easy to find.

(Just like how you'll, obviously work really hard to be transparent about the crown items that can be purchased through gameplay, because It just fosters a sense of trust that keeps loyal subscribers around rather than some leaving because the sketched out feeling grows to the point they can no longer justify paying)

Cheers!

Replying because I'm having a hard tims seeing how to edit on the full site on mobile. The only reason why I mentioned the part about people being sketched out, is in a short period of time, I've heard about 2 people (friends of a streamer) who were long time subscribers and housing enthusiasts, who dropped loads of cash on the game and are leaving because the feelings just built up to a head. I can't afford an eso sub rn but want one. And the thought of the community dying before i get the money to play properly feels bad. Some elements of the crown store feel a lot like Gamigo games, and they're notorious for killing games.

I also hate how when someone gets sketched out how it divides and drags the community down a bit.

    Otherwise, keep being awesome!

Note that the drop rates are odds and not guaranteed.

I've gone ~300 crates without any normal Apex drops and then won 2 Apex nearly back-to-back.

I've been getting boxes since they were first shoe-horned into the game, sometimes against my better judgment, and have never once, gotten an apex mount. I've gotten several mounts and pets but never the apex. I don't whale because I'm not rich and I find them distasteful as a whole, but I do buy them for the gems and not in the hopes I get something neat.

Surprised that doesn't even list the chance for Radiant Apex, which is abysmally low. That is what gets people addicted to buying them: fishing for a 0.5% droprate. Should totally be included there.

You can also go to crowncrates.com to see the droprates from previous crates, although they stopped showing new data a few crate seasons ago.

I agree. You don't get to say you disclose the odds without disclosing the odds of the rarest items, radiant apex. It's not much better than a half truth. They aren't really lying, but they aren't giving you the whole breakdown either.

It would be good for them to publish the radiant apex mount odds, but they are likely lumping it together with the regular apex mounts.

Disclosure. I do not buy crates.
