Should Dual class be ingame and would it be better then Spell Crafting?

This has been on my mind alot since it has its ups and downs.

This would require alot of balancing but would also provide players more Roleplay expereince like a Nightblade/Dragonknight or a Sorcerer/Necromancer.
We will most likely never get a new class so a good option would allow a mechanic that allows players to pick a 2nd class once reaching a certain level. This could be unlocked instantly or revolve around a quest. The choice is final and you can't change it later. The reason is that once you pick a 2nd class, the dual-class will be automatically balanced so Devs would only be concerned about balancing dual classes and not 1 character that has a spell from each class.

I can see this be a better option than spell crafting because there are only 36 combos which is alot but it would be better than trying to balance all the spells so they will all work together.
This would also prevent a person using all the best class spells and just being the most OP player in the game.

I will reply if anyone has any questions about it

Skill crafting will either be so bad that nobody use it or so meta that it will ruin classes and break the game. I also can’t believe that the skills we would be getting out of it would be aesthetically good.

Yeah true, I am just bored of not getting new skills that all classes can get. Been like 3 or 4 years since we got a new skill line that can be used on everyone.

Just feels like if we are never going to get a new skill line ever atleast have some option to mix classes. Gets boring after a while.

I think both dual classing and spellcrafting would be balance nightmares....

Look, I love the everliving **** out of Grim Dawn. It's easily my favorite ARPG of all time. Titan Quest is a close runner up.

I really love dual classing in those games. I'm unreasonably fond of how the class combos generate their own, specific, class names.

ESO was not built around the idea that you'd be mixing multiple classes together. Classes, by design, don't really synergize outside of their specs with one another, and there are some hilariously broken combos a player could exploit.

I love this as a thing when it's intentional. If I had designed ESO from the ground up, I probably would have gone with dual class specing. (Probably using the same list as Elder Scrolls Legends, with the same base Attributes focusing on a class. Possibly with the same, specific, tri-spec build options as well (In case it's not clear, tri-color decks in Legends have a much higher deck size minimum, which is a penalty in CCGs,))

ESO as it exists? No. You'd need to completely rework how ESO functions in order to make that a thing. While I'm not completely opposed to them throwing everything out and creating a new character system for the game, I also know that players would not be forgiving of that.

Much as I think Dual Classing is a really cool design element, I don't think it's a good fit for ESO, as a game that's been out for 8 years.

Also, why do a yes or no poll when you ask two questions?
I don’t think that dual classes should be in game but i think that it would still be better than skill crafting. Someone could think that dual classes should be implemented even if they think it’s worse than skill crafting.

The current class types are not built on the archetype characters that would make it interesting enough.

It is also far too much work for the return it would bring. Zenimax would do better keeping true to their design vision and focusing on much more important work such as fixing performance and major bugs and creating content to keep our interest in the game.

Can't vote because I'm mitigated about it.

I have the experience of GW (the original one), in which we have class combo. The concept is well designed: we have the main class, full capacities, and the second class, with limited amount of points and skills choices (compared to what we have when it's main class).

It has good and bad sides.
    - Good: it's real fun to combine two different types of skills into a performing set.
    - Bad: it gives - by far - too powerful results. Combined with henchies (sort of companions), most players go solo, with no more need for a team, even for the most difficult PvE content (Vanquishing, FoW, DoA, UW).
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

I rather wish they had done what GW2 did with classes. All classes can use several different weapons, but each classes spells work differently with the weapons. Sure they only have 5 skills like ESO, and a few utility skills on a "back bar", but you get far more variety than the same thing every time with a different paint of coat like in eso.

Adding another class skills and passives on top of existing class perks would probably be a balancing nightmare,
but the global idea of subclasses is nice, and one could easily imagine a system with additional 3rd morphs per skill,
unlocked by a specific quest or trial, or and additional class-tied piece of gear that would switch damage types and effects.

    ie.
    - sorcerer summons skills are replaced on morph by (illegal) undead summons
    - dragonknight fire skills are replaced on morph by shock skills
    - ...

But I guess the ongoing hybridization of stam/magic combat has to get to its "final shape" first
(as the current status of it is hopefully not the last step, unless there is a secret way to sustain off-stat spammables and such).

Extend class only abilities to have 4 morphs, not necessarily 2 magicka and 2 stamina, but close to it. Have most morphs support different roles for support (defensive, buffing, debilitating, or healing) and at least 2 offensive options.

    Don't make a Yes/No poll with a double question.

    But no, to both.

Double class is just something the game is not equipped to handle, I feel. Balancing would be an absolute nightmare, and class identity would become even more of a joke than what it is now.
I'd rather have a subclass or masterclass system, or hell, even morph upgrades .

And no, it won't be better than spellcrafting, or worse, they are both ideas that wouldn't work in ESO, and I would especially like to stop seeing the same people making threads about spellcrafting every week. We are hopefully [snip] never gonna get spellcrafting, and that's a good thing for the game.

Actually I would be happy with this if it had different visuals/models.
