Great MMO moments in ESO

I just witnessed something that was both tremendously entertaining and also shows what kind of things the MMO format makes possible at its best.

Returning from a jaunt of lead farming in Western Skyrim, I stopped at Solitude to deconstruct excess glyphs. When going to the enchanter, I noticed two players dueling on the platform in front of it. It so happened they both were tanks, so neither could do much damage to each other. There were a few players watching, me included, and some others came while the duel lasted. It was an epic affair: The duelists beat at each other for more than twenty minutes, apparently using every skill in their bars. Finally there were about eight to ten spectators.

The funniest thing was the sideshow, however: First someone started to ride circles around the combatants on a glowy kagouti mount, like in some circus ring. I couldn't help laughing pretty hard at that.

Then I got the idea to do some cheerleading to accompany the fight because why not, so I started doing some dances and playing the lute. Someone else took up the idea, and then another, until there was a whole band (my character is the dance girl at the left):

Some people used all kinds of emotes and mementos (including putting a snowman between the duelists), and somebody stripped his/her character and danced in the middle of it all to the sweetly discordant tune of our orchestra:

There was banter in the chat and the whole thing all was so funny I had tears in my eyes from all the laughter.

Finally the duel ended and we cheered the victor (who of course made appropriate boasts in the chat) accordingly:

My expression certainly matched my character's in the above pic  All in all, it was a damn improvised carneval out of nowhere. Just the kind of thing that makes the inter-player aspect in this game so potentially fun. I've experienced smaller impromptu moments like this before, but never anything so fun. Made my day, really, and reinforces my experience of how good the community is in the PC EU.

Anyone else who has experienced memorable moments with other players in this game? I'd like to hear about them.

My favourite moment in PVP history is when AD held castle Roebuck for 3 hours during midyear mayhem while it was being sieged from both sides and they managed to hold them all off.

Yes, PvP makes for great stories, too. I have only dabbled in it, but still experienced yesterday something similar on a smaller scale. EP had conquered Fort Glademist from us DC folks, and we tried to retake it. It took something like two hours and half a dozen tries, since the EP's knew what they were doing and there were a lot of them. It was dreary slaughter for us. EDIT: The EPs sometimes even didn't bother staying on the walls, but jumped down in force right into the middle of us and proceeded to give us a thorough beating. It was just insane all over, and the feeling of relief when the keep had been retaken was quite something.

But holding off both opposing armies at once for that long? Wow, now that's suitably epic!

So how does bragging work on the EU server? Is English the go-to boast/swear language? I can imagine that EU gets pretty darn colorful at times with so many languages to swear and learn swears in! :D

Yes, English seems to be the default language most people use in the open chats and with strangers. Heh, there's a funny story even to that: Once, I defeated a world boss with a random stranger and afterwards chatted with him a bit in English. Only then I realized that his username could be a word in my mother tongue. So I asked him, if he's also a Finn, and he was! And there we had been gabbing in a foreign tongue just because I had a brain freeze.

Besides English, in the zone chat you see some German and Russian, sometimes a bit French or other more exotic languages. For some reason at least some Russians seem to prefer exclusively playing with their own countrymen, because they write even their WTS-ads in Russian (I know a little Russian, and so can understand some of what they write). Knowing languages is a bonus in the EU server, certainly; I, for instance, belong to a mostly German-speaking guild with very friendly people, because I know German tolerably well. There's surprisingly little swearing, actually, and that mostly in English. But yeah, I've seen a few German or French equivalent of f-bombs

My favorite moments have all been in Cyrodiil, and I mostly have focused on PVE , but I have a deep love for the siege wars.

So one time we were zerging and some had the hammer and we were crossing the bridge to continue the train of pain and that bridge exploded in the middle of us crossing, both our zerg and opposing alliance zerg, and we all fell into the river and we're eatn alive by slaughter fish. Lol

A guild I was in organized a bunch of us with argonian characters to dance in Murkmire at the location of a quest so that one of the guild members could video capture another guild member completing a quest with a bunch of argonians dancing around. Good times.

Very early in the game there was (and still is I suppose) a quest that included searching a bedroom. Plenty of players coming and going as the game was new and the quest was an early one. I started jumping on the bed. People would pause and watch. Some would join and jump with me. A couple asked if there was something about the quest they were missing. At one point we had the room fairly full with people jumping, cheering and playing instruments.

I also going to a dungeon where you basically ran a circle and had that one way door you had to exit to get back to the start inside the dungeon. I would play dead near that door and jump up just as a player came through to see if they would attack me. Most did. A few even dropped an ultimate on me. Got some comments that I startled them.

Fishing with the opposing faction in Cyrodiil was always kind of cool.

I like pulling out a chair and watching duels when they look like they will last for a while. To bad I can't sit and drink while I watch.

There was some epic activities around the character Sleeps on Bridge.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Questing in Imperial City on an EP lowbie, I had an enemy player prance up out of nowhere and run a circle around me (Jester Personality). After a brief heart attack, I gave a cheer emote and prepared to die. Then they plopped down and played the qanun right there in the middle of the street. Of course I had to dance. We parted ways before anyone else came along to swat me like a fly. I will always appreciate not being murdered for the 14 or so tel var I had on me. Danger dance parties are the best!
