ESO Mobile Edition? (Moba?)

Do you ever think we will see an ESO Mobile type game ? Like a 5 v 5 ? I figured that's the final thing ZOS should do to really "please" the fans lol, but ya, it's way to obvious that it would make the Elder Scroll purists cringe, but imagine a Battle Grounds type of MOBA, or maybe a tower defense Cyrodiil game. Those would be so fun. Or maybe Elder Scrolls match 3 ? Or how about an elder scrolls endless running game ? Or maybe a talking Tom type game? Call it Talking Khajit? What do you think ? Have any fun ways Microsoft could further sell out the series ? I'd like to hear it

I always thought that a Fallout MMO that plays like Diablo or Path of Exile would be gold, look at how popular Lost Ark is. As for a mobile ESO, you can play this game on your phone with Google Stadia and a controller.

Edit - Fallout was originally top down camera, so it also goes back to the roots of the game.

Ya I am aware of stadia and xcloud streaming. But I'm talking about something a little different. Think ESO Battle Grounds but in the play style of League Of Legends or , a tower defense game like Clash of Clans

Blades was the mobile attempt at a game. It's very pretty but not IMHO very good.

Streaming makes more sense. They seem to have moved almost everything server side anyway at this point judging by the noticeable extra lagging of every skill and action when playing NA v EU.

Too many toons not enough time

The server architecture, as they put it , is out of date , so they have to upgrade it, supposed to be complete by the end of 2022, this year.
Hardware plays a part, but so does the network I think it bottle necks.
I'd love to play a smaller version of the game. Hence a mobile version. Light weight , not bloated, just great gameplay. Hopefully they will release more mobile games, but ones that are actually great

Not sure if you got the point I am making.

ESO on PC is at it's heart nothing more than a glorified drawing and UI program. All the important stuff is backend (except lock picking seems to be local). At that point there isn't any reason for a mobile version of the MMO game to be anything different to Stadia.

In fact it's pretty much impossible to do a game of that scale on a phone any other way because the rendering, voice and texture data set is enormous and phone storage does not scale into the hundreds of gigabytes. That's not bloat - that's the necessary content if you want to have a lot of very different looking things not a million repetetive ones.

I think I'd be content if they just offered an ESO companion app that lets you access a version of the game UI so you can look at your stickerbook, bank and chest inventories, skills, achievements, etc. A lot of times, when I'm cruising through YT and articles on builds to get advice, certain skill morphs or sets are mentioned and it would make things so much easier if I could just open up an app and check out what I have vs what I need. It's not a laziness thing either; oftentimes I don't want to open the game up bc I logged off with an xp scroll burning and don't want to waste any of it just because I need to look at some things related to my setup. The biggest thing I would like though, would be the ability to use an app to change my online status in the game without having to log in. What can I say? I'm an introvert and sometimes I don't just don't have the spoons to deal with socializing, and those are the days that I kick myself for not switching my status to offline before I logged off last.

Ya that would be useful , an ESO app at least. When I used to play Destiny on PS3, they have an app to see your characters and you can even change their load out, armor, weapons etc, while on your phone , and when u got on the game, the changes you made on the app would be on the game ready to go. Very cool idea.

It's not as hard as you're making it sound, all that stuff can be scaled to mobile, even if they wanted to make a mobile MMORPG of the same name, just for mobile.
Go look up Black Desert Mobile and you will poop your pants

Actually a companion app would be really nice, Neverwinter MMO actually had one that worked in your browser (mobile browser too) called "Gateway" where you could send your companions/pets on quests to get you rewards in game.
It was shut down but it was actually very interesting. It was kinda like a puzzle combat type game if I remember right.

I tried Elder Scrolls Blades on Switch, you can only get so far without paying for it then everything starts to beat you down regardless how much epic and legendary gear you have on. At leas the controls are better than on a phone, no screen swiping and the triggers provide extra functionality. You're not allowed to start over if you mess up, so after a while I went completely broke and none of my current quests can be completed as I can't revive anymore.

There are mobile elder scrolls games. But as @phaneub17_ESO has stated, mobile games often have a barrier that encourages spending a good amount of money or deal with going slow.

Well a mobile game ultimately is a console or computer game, technically. The temptation lies in the ultra casual nature of playing games on your phone , having your bank card linked to an account and easily tempting session players ( people that hope on for a quick play experience ) with pay wall mechanics. If you look at the history of mobile games , it's a diverse market place, some are grossly guilty of this type of business model while others are more ethical. Elder scrolls blades is an example of a bad business model trying to monotize like crazy , but overall if you want to capture the heart of a player, there are examples of mobile games being done right.
But with that said , I still would like Moba elder scrolls game in the style of LoL , or a tower defense type game . For instance , timers. Timers shouldn't be super long if it's for non paying players , but just enough to entice. I find that players aren't so much against paying for a service , as long as it has immense value for their hard earned dollar. There's lots of commentary on this , cuz mobile gaming is friggin huge. Even bigger than console or PC gaming.
The challenge is, how do you provide an amazingly rewarding and fun experience while still getting payed. It's completely possible. Microsoft and other companies jus have to keep their greed in check. Look at Minecraft. Immensely popular to this very day, but still makes tons of profit. I never hear of any Minecraft players screaming about micro transactions or pay walls. Fortnite is another lucrative game , that puts everything upfront. Want a cool skin. Jus buy it.
Anyways, I think the best game to learn from is Paths Of Exile and Warframe. But if you think I'm wrong, definitely debate me on this.

So do you play current ESO PvP? Because I think most of its players would argue that if they can't even get PvP to work for players with dedicated systems on wired connections, then there wouldn't be much hope for a competitive environment on mobile. That's for the MOBA half. A tower defense game I feel would go the same route as Legends did; Elder Scrolls is a franchise about exploration and real-time combat, so a tower defense would probably fall too far out of those expectations to really thrive.
Timers? That seemed like a really abrupt left turn, but I think Blades is a great example of how you can't trust Bethesda to responsibly use timers. Also, ESO, though not as shameless.

So none of the games you list here are comparable to ESO, nor are their developers comparable to ZoS.
-Minecraft has a long history as one of the most loved games ever. One of the reasons it's lasted so long is that it's content updates remain free to this day. The game has evolved and the company has never asked for more money for it, in stark contrast to ZoS selling a single content update split into four full-priced DLC each year.
-Fortnite was one of the most popular games ever, a title ESO hasn't even come close to reaching. The fact that it's free to play is a big part of its success. However, its business model of constant new cosmetics has been criticized heavily for forcing an indefinite crunch period and causing burnout amongst the developers.
-Warframe has one of the most player-friendly business models. The game is free, the updates are free. Even the premium currency can be traded (Legit, unlike ESO) among players so those who are willing to grind can get literally everything in the game for free just by playing. Contrast to ESO where again, even major features are locked behind DLC paywalls and still 90% of the cosmetics are locked behind lootboxes. Not even close in terms of developer goodwill.
-I've barely played PoE so I can't comment too much here, but again, the game is one of the most popular in its genre and is free-to-play.

My point is, ZoS and Bethesda as a whole have proven they don't have the intent of making the best game for their players anymore, and are exclusively interested in making as much money as possible. So I can't see how a mobile game would be worthwhile when they can't even invest the effort into their massive multi-platform MMO.

Ya, Elder Scrolls Legends technically was a failure but it's still up and running. I think with Microsoft owning zenimax and now Blizzard may offer a hint at a future reattempt at a card game on mobile. The CCG we are getting in ESO is an interesting move. So they aren't done with the card idea. We could possibly see that in game card game get it's own separate version. Think hearthstone
