Potential Problem with this Midyear and IC?

They seem to be pushing IC a LOT this time around, and I don't like the fact that so many new things only drop from IC bosses.

Black Drake Clanwrap Style Pages: this new outfit style dropped by Imperial City sweepers and bosses.

Legion Zero Vigiles Style Pages: found on the corpses of bosses and sweepers inside the Imperial City.

Black Drake Body and Face Markings: dropped by bosses within the Imperial City.

In previous Midyear events, it was a pain in the butt to get motifs to drop from the roaming bosses. So I am hoping the drop rate is astronomically better this year, and the bosses spawn faster then they do now, with so many things needing to drop from bosses. I also dont know if it is only district bosses. Or is it sewer bosses, banners, or Bal that drops them too. I just know that I dont see this working out very well and really hope it doesnt just cause issues in obtaining the new items.

the sweepers i think are the roaming bosses in the surface, it may also include banner bosses in the sewers

the regular bosses are probably the sewer ones with the fixed location spawns

both are generally kind of tough to do in the midyear mayhem though because some factions are base camped by zergs in the sewers, and there are zergs running on the surface

it also makes it difficult in places like the arena district you cannot attack the roaming bosses from the towers (however if you are a healer and heal allies fighting the boss on the ground, you CAN still get credit for the kill and then drop down to pick up the loot, even if you die the loot from the boss you cant lose anyway)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Legion Zero Vigiles is old, so there should be some at guild traders, plus it will probably drop from the grab bag that you can buy from the Impresario using event tickets.

The new Black Drake pages and markings are supposed to be available from the Impresario as well.

Oh it is a old style? That's a little better at least. Sorry, there's so many legion zero styles I didn't realize this one was old lol I still hope it's not going to be a headache with so many things dropping exclusively from the bosses. I missed the last event so I'm sadly am going to need to use my tickets for the new dragon pet and skin pieces :/

During previous events, the event coffers could drop from crossed-swords bosses in the sewers, as well as from patrolling horrors, so I'm hoping the references to "Imperial City" mean in the districts plus in the sewers.

What's a "sweeper," by the way? EDIT: Oh, I didn't see @Necrotech_Master's post because we both posted at about the same time. That's what I figured a "sweeper" is, but if anyone knows for sure, please share! :)

I'm not even going to bother trying to get any of that. Imperial City just isn't that fun unless you're in a group, otherwise you just get killed immediately, and it's not fun trying to find a group. I've done IC plenty of times before and it's ok, but not THAT great. Just my own personal opinion, of course.

My main issue with this is that you are encouraged to group up, but only to a point. There is a loot cap on all bosses so the real pvp isn't between you and the other faction, it's between you and your own faction over getting kill credit for even a chance at getting the drops. If ZOS is going to source new style items through bosses, they need to take a look at the loot rules for those bosses, especially during times with high volumes of players going after those rewards.

It will be about 5 minutes into the event when people start complaining they aren't getting loot off the bosses and the playerbase will have to explain why, because those loot rules aren't accurately documented by ZOS anywhere that I'm aware of.

I thought the markings came in the boxes. Still, point taken.

I promise you it will be a pain in the rear this year.

Even if the drops were common, which they wont be, if years past were any indication. The roving zergs and spawn camping would make farming in the sewer or above ground pretty much impossible for the wrong factions.

So I guess the solution is to jump from campaign to campaign until you get one where your side is dominating or at least able to roam freely.

But that's the whole point when putting PVE objectives that entice PVE players to a PVP area. Someone is going to farm them.

It's a 12 player limit, so if you are with your own group, which maxes out at 12 players, everyone will get loot. The people who complain are the players who do like 1 light attack on Molag Bal when there are like 50 players there and of course they get nothing, they barely contributed to the fight.

If I'm running in a 12 player group and that's the only group there, that's an ideal situation. What if I'm in a 12 person group and there is another 6 person group and also a few solo players all zooming around looking for bosses? That's where the problems start. Healers complain they don't get loot. Tanks complain they don't get loot. Lower end dps may also not get any loot when players outside the group are also fighting the boss.

I'm not suggesting those players shouldn't be there at all. They have every right to be there. My concern is that it creates a negative feeling toward other players above 12 when there are steps ZOS could take to prevent those negative situations.
