Skill Point Refund - Returning Player - Skill 'Snapshot' or Log Somewhere?

Hi there o/

I've just returned to the game and discovered all my skills have been refunded. Trouble is, with 12 alts (I know some people have many more than this!), I can't remember what skills went where. This goes for crafting points too.

My method is to spend one skill point, then check the crafting tables for research to remind me what crafting a character did, then visit a Shrine of Stendarr which gives me an idea of what goes where. It also means that you can spend points immediately without the annoying pop-up window. And if you only spend one point you are certain of beforehand, you don't have to pay a fee because you're not refunding any points. This system is *ok* for me.

HOWEVER! I play all my alts, they aren't just crafting/bank minions, and it takes for-flipping-ever to do all the running around working this stuff out.

So I wondered if there was a log/record somewhere in the game files which would tell me what everyone had before the refund, if that makes sense? And if not, does anyone know of a nifty addon or something which takes a snapshot of my characters skills so I don't have to do this palaver all over again if there's a refund in the future? Or do you have a much better method of going about respending your points? Perhaps I'm missing something really obvious - this happens frequently to me!

Hope you're all well and the last year hasn't been toooo awful in these testing times, and many thanks in advance!

Currently the game has Armory system which allows you to save a setup with all of your skills, gears, quick slots and outfit. But for your case that data is long gone.

Game gives you free Armory Station and two slots for it but you can always buy additional slots but beware this is per character just like outfit slots.

The Armory system is fairly new, but before that was introduced recently, there existed at least a couple of add-ons that have that function.

I use "Caro's Skill and Champion Point Saver" add-on, myself. I fluctuate between 16-18 characters, and it has been a big help.

I am sure the in-game Armory system works well, too, I just haven't fiddled with it yet.

This is exactly the kind of thing I was after!

Thank you both @Grizzbeorn and @Treeshka for taking the time to reply. Very much appreciated!

One other thing to note is that if you leave an armory slot free you can use it as a blank reset. So in exchange for a spec slot you can avoid paying the respec fee.
