PS5 Enhanced-Serious problem-Can’t charge weapons or fix armor

This problem started occurring yesterday.
Anybody having a problem with recharging weapons or repairing armor? When I chose the weapon/armor piece and hit the 🔼 button, I get the aux menu with Enchant, Charge, Repair, Lock, etc. But when I use the d-pad or the left thumb pad to scroll the list, the menu disappears like I hit the ⏺ button. Even showing all the possible weapons that can be in my slots won’t let me charge them; nothing happens.
I’ve tried a different controller, killing the client, restarting and turning off/on my PS5, but nothing helps. Right now I can’t play.
Ps. When I zoned, I could charge my Main Hand Backup by listing every weapon I’m carrying and hitting the 🔼 button to charge it. But still, from the Main Inventory list of “Main Hand, Poison, Main Hand Backup, Poison Back-Up, etc” I can’t charge either weapon.
Pps. I rebuilt the PS5 database but it made no difference.

✭✭✭✭I’m on PS5 but using PS4 version. I believe I use the X button to see all weapons or armor available for the equipped weapon, not the triangle button.

On the main inventory screen it shows the slot of your main hand weapon, etc. On the other vertical box next to it, it shows your currently equipped weapon (not all weapons). At the bottom of that screen it shows “🔼 Equipped - More Actions”. Hitting the 🔼 brings up the “Enchant, Lock, Charge, etc.” menu for the equipped weapon only. This is the sub menu that you can’t scroll up and down. This menu just disappears without pressing any buttons on the controller. See the short twitter video in my previous post
It works the same when I played on a PS4 and it did the same on my PS5 until a couple of days ago.
Btw, pressing the X button as you said shows all carried weapons for that slot. But scrolling down this list also makes it disappear without touching any buttons, just like the 🔼 list.Edited by OmenRIP on February 13, 2022 2:50PM0 -
OmenRIP✭✭✭I uninstalled the ESO client, rebuilt the database, reinstalled the client, and the problem persists!
This is most probably a result of the emergency hardware maintenance 2 days ago.0 -

I did watch the video but I guess I didn’t clearly understand the problem. I hope you get it resolved.

Are you by any chance using a Bluetooth keyboard? I've had this problem and, for me, I narrowed it down to some conflict between the keyboard and controller.✨🐦✨ Blackfeather Court Commission ✨🐦✨0 -

Have you tried unpairing and re-pairing both controllers?

OmenRIP✭✭✭Haha! I discovered another glitch. I list all the weapons for my main hand, pick the one I want to charge, hit the 🔼 button and I get the normal submenu. This one I can scroll in, but when I press X it doesn’t charge 🤬. But if I repeat this process, the charge works.Edited by OmenRIP on February 16, 2022 5:34PM0

Avoranti✭✭✭✭✭Guess what? With 0 done on my part, the complete problem is fixed.
Glad to read it fixed itself. Just for a quick reference though, when did this issue start? The glitchy screen looks like lag related. Could also explain the issue you were having with charging your weapons.
There is an event going on and a lot of players trying to squeeze in zones with friends and guild mates. The zones are instanced. I’m assuming 1-99 players per instance but that can be exceeded by teleporting to someone in a full instance. That’s when things start to go wonkey. Also note, the only update to the event seems to be the rewards, so the event coding is likely outdated and causing conflicts with the more current updates. Thats just a theory though.
