How to stop casting?

Many MMOs have a keybind for stop casting but I don't see one for ESO. For example, I will cast Dark Conversion which has a 1 second cast time but my group can die during that window. I want to stop casting so I can switch to Twilight Matriarch and save my group with a big heal.

How can I stop casting so I can switch to a different skill immediately?

I believe that can be achieved by blocking/bashing or changing bars. It doesn't seem to always work though, from what I can recall, especially on some abilities for some reason.

I think you can just right click (block) to immediately stop it. At least, that's what I do sometimes to stop the Templar jabs.

Sometimes block won't work, but bar swapping and bashing has been always reliable at cancelling something that's channeled early
