Everlasting Werewolf

Hi all,

I was under the impression that transforming into a werewolf was an ultimate ability and that it had a semi-short duration. I have never been one and don't know much about it. I looked up the skills and see one that lets you prolong the effects of the transformation by a few seconds at a time when causing damage. But after reading the details it seems like the transformation should still end within about 30-seconds or less if there are no corpses around. I'm talking about no CP Cyrodiil PVP here. I fought an AD player who was a werewolf the other day and he transformed into a werewolf sporadically throughout our very long 1v1 fight. He would always change back relatively quickly which I thought was normal. The fight went on for several minutes and it looked like I was about to win. Then I noticed he changed into a werewolf and never changed back again. This change lasted for at least a few minutes and I eventually died from running out of resources. I was wondering if it's possible for someone to stay in werewolf form for a few minutes straight or more based on how things are SUPPOSED to work for werewolf in no CP Cyrodiil. I don't know if you can stay a werewolf forever just by dealing damage or by using specific gear sets that are allowed in no CP.

You can stay in Pack Leader transformation indefinitely as long as you're attacking something.

Good to know thanks. I'll have to study it a bit more. IMO vamp offers not much of anything other than the level 3 damage mitigation that comes with much more fire damage to you and increased cost because vamp abilities are mostly worthless outside of awkward niche uses. Maybe I'll consider switching or at least dropping vamp. In no CP sustain is a huge issue and being a vamp to reduce damage means pretty bad sustain and almost no health recovery. I guess werewolf is better for offense and sustain and vamp for defense.

One of the passives reduces the speed that the timer goes down at. Math wise, this means the passive that restores time will perfectly sustain the transformation, though that's unlikely, but feeding every now and then will top off the timer. And as SkaraMinoc mentioned, the wolves summoned by the pack leader count as 2 friendly werewolves, making that time reducing passive go up to 60%, meaning that the damage dealing passive alone can easily sustain the transformation.

I ran out of resources and he didn't since werewolf gives a lot of max resources and sustain. I have a somewhat defensive build so I couldn't do enough damage to finish him off. Of course I also need to work on some type of stamblade kill combo as well. If I were a better player I'm sure I could have won. It's just the 1st time I've ever played 1v1 against a werewolf for several minutes that didn't change back. Maybe I need to consider a set like Draugh-Hulk for my no CP offensive set on Stamblade to get more max resources since I never seem to have enough. (About 28k stam and 30k health in no CP) Even with the Serpent Mundus, food that has stam recovery, and 2 stam recovery glyphs on jewelry I'll run out of resources in long fights whether in a large group or 1v1. Being a level 3 vamp doesn't help either. Heavy attack on 2H takes so darn long and its' difficult to even hit someone to recover resources. By the time I'd get a couple of them off so I can use other abilities again I'd already be dead. Looks like I'll have to try less heavy armor and more medium. I'll be more squishy but at least I'll have better sustain and damage.

Jewel of misrule or Smokey bear haunch with torc of tonal gives huge sustain for any werewolf build, and I highly recommend running those two. I feel like 1k magicka return is perfect, the more the better
