having an option similar to "hide helm" would be super nice.

I love a lot of things about this game but its armor isn't one of them.

I would love to see one more option to hide crotch flaps, too.

have to agree - most of the shoulders don't fit properly and are PIG ugly.

Agreed and not just 'hide shoulders' option but hips\front\back flaps, belts and gloves as well.

Agree, was always a fan of making everything optional what only affects myself and has no effect on other players.

All It takes is to add shoulder style with no model or with transparent textures. It is not that hard really. I am an "amateur" when it comes to modding. I did some mods like that to Skyrim / Oblivion / Morrowind and it is not a great amount of work. For some one who is making games professionally it is probably less than 5 minutes of work.

The Emperor's New Clothes style. Something that could be added to the Jester's Festival? Ability to hide any piece of gear?

In the grand scheme of things, it obviously has not risen to the level of doing something about it.

Rich made a comment that suggests that they will not do a "hide chest" or "hide legs". I am hopeful for other locations, though. For shoulder, my feeling is that it will just be a matter of time. For hands and feet, probably a longer wait, if ever. Waist will probably not happen. If I had to guess.

If I had to place a bet... they will never (as in _never_) do anything about the tassets and hip flaps in existing armor. I am pretty sure that this part of the core armor models and textures and they were never designed for this. My feeling is that this will only have a chance of happening if they have reason to go back into and touch all of the armor in the game. Again. Even then, it is a style decision and if they don't want to change the style, they won't.

Given costumes don’t have ugly shoulders or ugly hip and crotch flaps I don’t see technically why they can’t do this. Or make a readily available armour style with tiny shoulders. Honor Guard light style has shoulders that are basically an arm band, But it drops from vBRP and the shoulder costs an absolute fortune to buy at guild traders

They can make new costumes and armors that don't have them. It is not a limitation of the game, it is how they do it when they create the stuff. If they create it without them, then they won't have them. Any created with them, will have them. However, keep in mind that this is different than a toggle to turn them on and off per the wishes of the player.
