I am not surprised that our level would update since it would not be common for someone to keep an eye on a player's level.
This has actually always been the case. If someone is genuinely offline, you will get "Account not found" but if they are in offline mode it won't show any error. It has been like that since 2016 that I know of. The updating of the level/CP is new, though. I've admittedly not paid enough attention to that. I would assume that came in at the same time as CP 2.0.As i said i thought that it worked that noboday can see you char level and CP changes and if someone try to whisper you, it will get "Account not found" error but now you dont get any error and everybody can see this changes.
Thank you for explanation. I thought that no error is new tooThis has actually always been the case. Yes I agree, we using it for do some quick things without any explanation to some ppl what we doing, why we doing etc. Or if I want to clear zone with zone quest i want it to do in my way.
It doesn't have to be one specific person, either. I use it personally, though only occasionally, when I have something I want to get done and don't want to be disturbed. That's what Do Not Disturb/Busy should do and... does not. Offline mode is basically Do Not Disturb with strict settings (though people can still invite you to a group by using /invite @name).
Another reason is that some guilds want to promote an active environment, be they social guilds or trading guilds, and state that X days offline will result in a kick. Their guild, their rules, nothing to debate.
Regardless of the reasons, I don't see an issue in using it and if people care that much then it's probably an issue on their end.
It seems a bit unfair that you need to play in offline mode when you don't want to play with specific people. Couldn't you just tell them you're only online for a bit to do some quick things, or you want to play alone for now? Are they really so demanding of your time that they expect you to play with them any time you're online?
Maybe it's because I've never had a specific group I always play with but no one seems to mind if I'm online and don't play with them. Sometimes I'll get a whisper from someone asking if I want to join for whatever they're doing but if I can't I just say I won't have time/I'm in the middle of something or whatever and they leave me to it.
