Then there would have been a second reveal, after people have had their guesses about the next new zone, where the ship is swallowed by a whirlpool that takes it to the actual new zone, revealing it had nothing to do with what was shown earlier.

Also, PvP wouldn't lag anymore.

How much would it cost to buy ESO, anyway?

If I owned ESO, the guards would severely chastise players who duel in towns, there would be guided silt strider tours up to the top of Red Mountain, Lord Vivec would come out of his palace once a week to float cross-legged through Vivec City, and the Daggerfall Covenant would regularly pwn the Ebonheart Pact in Cyrodiil.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

if you'd own 51% of microsoft, you'd get it all - you need more than just ZOS to actually own it.

If I owned ESO... I would ask my parent company to boost server farm power. It's in MS best interest. I would also take what people were so excited for in NW PvP and find what could be added to ESO.

Pool financial resources and buy vast quantities of shares??

If this one owns ESO, there will be alfiqs EVERYWHERE and you can play as an alfiq. Or a dagi raht. And Riverhold shall be saved from dragons.

If I would owned ESO I would make local guild/faction in every expansion and profession extention to reasonable quests (like bounty hunters, traders, priests etc). And I would create similar guilds of hunters/order like DB and Thieves were created. And I would add beggars to outcasts.
And I would rework Cyrodil into smaller area, more devastated by war, and I would add PVE quests to outskirts of Cyrodil.
And I would rework IC into stealthy pvp survival without factions.

If you owned ESO you probably wouldn't have time to play it anyway, you'd be working too hard in order to pay off the bank loan.

    Let's see...

    1. No more Crown Crates, gems will simply be aged out, and Seals can be used to buy Crown items.
    2. No more Race Change Tokens.
    3. Never to: Class Change Tokens, account wide achievements, auction house/global player store, overland veteran content, and probably a bunch of other things.
    4. Crown purchases in the Crown Store would apply to all megaservers, not just the one the purchase happened on, but prices go up by 50%. Also, all products dating back to the dawn of the Crown Store will be available all the time. It will be the Crown Mega Store.
    5. No more Crown item gifting in exchange for gold. Both parties banned permanently after one warning. This is to prevent fraud, but Seals work like Crowns to offset this, somewhat.
    6. When banning bots, I would also disband any guilds that the bots were members of and confiscate everything in the guild bank and guild store, warn everyone else in the guild, and if any former members were found to be running another guild with bots, permanently ban them, pour salt on their IP address, and then nuke their ISP from orbit. Really, it is the only way to be sure.
    7. New "season pass" subscription tier above ESO Plus, annual only, always ends Dec 31, that would include the Chapter for that year. It would cost more than ESO Plus, by about of the cost of the Digital Collectors Edition Upgrade for the Chapter and come with all of the Collectors edition perks. The player gets to keep the Chapter and stuff earned while subscribed. Additional subscription benefits would be available, and could include additional Crowns, Crown Mega Store discounts, and conveniences like being able to learn each riding skill once per day and shorter crafting research times. Players who have continuous unbroken subscriptions get a little something extra on Dec 31, depending on years subscribed. (Resets if a year is skipped)

And yes... the game would tank and I would lose my investment. Currently taking donations towards stopping me from ever buying an MMO. See my business agent for details.

I would probably offer private instances and free the single player community from having to deal with others - and get rich by doing so - furthermore give them options to adjust pretty much everything in their private instance after their liking - it doesn't effect others, so why not - give people freedom to do as they please and charge them for that.

And for the pvp crowd, offer them a lag free experience by doing all the calculations on massively parallel computation hardware, capable of achieving this - end of this lag fest, professional computation - but it would no longer be free either. Well, and offer tokens, which can be gifted to other - with this token subscription can be paid for - there are always people willing to pay for others if they are playing well together - EVE has shown this with PLEX and it is a good move to do that. This way people who are beneficial for a group but unable to pay for it, can be paid for by others who benefit from having them around - this would sell a whole bunch of new subscriptions, like it is in EVE.

Furthermore to create an even playing field, I would server-sided adjust damage shields of players based on their latency - that high ping means more protection, because a lot less actions can be performed by these players. And lower the protection of those, having like 50ms pings or less.

There would as well be a massive reduction of DoT and AoE effects - and I would base efficiency of skills and attack on vicinity to others - one cannot perform an attack or spell well with others too close by - this would as well lower zerging quite a lot. Then of course things would no longer be that reliable, I would introduce unpredictability and uncertainty - and it would be quite challenging, because now rotations might not work as expected any longer, especially not in a zerg group - there failure would be the norm. But unpredictability means as well that I might introduce 2nd chances - kind of a divine intervention - where a lethal hit is ignored by chance.
