Where do you find Materials to build a house from scratch?

Where do you find Materials to build a house from scratch? Specifically, I want to try to build a castle out of the Plateau we just got. I have found a limited number of places, but it seems hard to find any info online about this.

There are furnishing plans you can learn to craft pieces with that can be found in the zones the pieces relate to in chests and boxes or by thieving or you can buy them off the guild traders. You can also buy the furniture that people have crafted on the guild traders if you don't want to craft yourself.
