Increase transmute crystal limit or not?

    Some people are always at the cap. Some people never have enough. Making them tradable would be the obvious solution.

    If you swimming in them,you are obviuosly not using them,so what is the point of increasing to 5k or 10k,if in a month or 2 you'll be in same boat.If it that easy to get stones,destroy em,make gear,transmute traits,or something.

    As I pointed out just above your post... It would cost ZOS profits, as they would have to increase their database storage space, something they don't like doing. Also, the actual database storage is probably the least of the cost, backups are what cost the most long term, and increasing the size of something you need to keep multiple copies of on hand, gets really expensive.

    Not in any meaningful way. They must be storing transmute crystal numbers as at least a 10 bit number (so likely actually a 16 bit double) but using a 16 bit double would allow up to 65k transmutes. They say there are something like 18 million accounts, so even if they're using some super efficient bit packed format and actually have to add an extra 6 bits per account that's only 18 megabytes of storage in total. It might even take more storage to hold all the transmute crystals people are holding in their inventories. For less than a gigabyte they could give us all 32 bit transmute storage which is more than you could ever farm in the life of the game. I think you get about a billion gold in the max template characters on PS4 so gold probably is stored as a 32bit value, so there's no real reason why transmutes can't be too. We can have unlimited amounts of telvar, gold, AP, key fragments, master writ vouchers but not transmute crystals - it's just odd. (And yes I know we can only have 12 event tickets but there's at least a rationale for that - they want people to keep engaged with events so you can't get too far ahead of yourself - but there's no corresponding rationale for transmute crystals as you can get them in so many different ways.)

    ive always found the cap on transmute stones to be kind of nonsense

    being able to stock up more would allow more experimentation with builds

    right now, fully reconstructing gear for every slot on a character is quite a lot (assuming the "cheapest" cost, each 5 pc set is still 125 transmutes)

    so to fully reconstruct gear for a toon, it would be roughly 300 transmutes at the "lowest" cost (everything being 25 each), and that is EACH time you wanted to fully redo your gear, the only bonus with this, is IF you have everything at the lowest cost, it is a net zero transition on transmute stones (cost is 25 and decon is 25)

    there are other sides to this as well, its likely the avg player doesnt have everything collected for every set, so the cost is roughly 350-450 transmute to recreate all gear for a single toon, in this case you have a net loss on transmute (anything over 25 transmute cost is going to be "lost" when doing decon, which heavily incentivizes full only reconstructing fully collected gear)

    i like to theory craft and make experimental builds, but its difficult for me to want to change gear so much unless its reconstructed with fully collected sets so im not losing transmutes

    this is just exploring the reconstruction side, if your talking about transmuting traits, that is fixed 50 transmute cost (and is also a 100% net loss of transmutes as you dont get any of those back from a transmute), perhaps it might be something to consider by including a "discount" on transmutes if you have more traits learned

    Making them sellable to other players would solve the problem.

    The cap one event tickets causes me to stop participating in events before they are over and the cap on transmute crystals often keeps me out of PVP. No more limits.
