Is Zos aware how laughably awful matchmaking is for random dungeons?

It would be a huge help if the random dungeon finder experience wasn’t such a gamble.

There’s way too much variance in what a Random Vet dungeon’s difficulty will look like or the amount of time required to complete it. Some DLC dungeons are significantly longer and harder than base game dungeons. Not at all talking about player skill level.

This has a huge effect on the amount of players using group finder and on those who want to requeue or not.

Btw I love the harder difficulty in DLC dungeons... it just seems obvious that they should be associated with a new difficulty tier instead of being lumped into Veteran the way they are as if they are similar to base game dungeons.

Wow, uh, 13 minutes is nothing. Nothing.

So 13+ minutes (it was actually more as I explained in the OP) is acceptable to you to wait around not doing the activity you want to do. Wow, I have to say that the things some players will tolerate and accept is remarkable to me. Change will never happen as long as you just accept the status quo.
And so support roles become niche, and queues for dps last 45 minutes, and no one ever reflects on their own behavior.

And players should not simply accept this, but apparently they do.

I don't even know where to begin with this post. Suffice to say that I disagree with almost every single line you wrote. I'll be succinct and then take my leave from this thread since clearly I am in the minority on this.
All the dungeons are designed to be done with one tank, one healer, and two damage dealers. That's what the Groupfinder is looking for in accord with the Devs' intentions.

Yes, I understand how the system works, but thanks for clarifying.
All the dungeons are designed to be done with one tank, one healer, The matchmaking can't ignore that the dungeons are designed for random players to do them with a tank, healer, and two damage dealers. If there aren't enough tanks and healers, then the best matchmaking in the world isn't going to find you a group. And it has to be said - the best matchmaking can't make players want to play tanks and healers.

The thing is, you don't need that line-up in order to complete normal dungeons, you just don't. Virtually any combination of 4 players can finish a normal dungeon (low level notwithstanding, but they would fail regardless of the role they were playing). All this system is doing is artificially causing delays in queuing for a random normal dungeon by forcing role assignment when it is clear that players do not want to be forced into specific roles. Maybe the problem is that Damage is the default and newer players do not understand how to change their role. So, make the instructions better, offer more of a tutorial, but for Pete's sake Do Something.

Players should not be forced to play a role that they may not want to play in content that does not demand those roles. Vet content can keep the restrictions, that's fine. Ostensibly if you are choosing Vet content, you already know what you are doing.

Sorry, but short of ZOS deciding to redesign their hardest DLC dungeons so that any 4 players in the random queue can complete them without needing tanks or healers, I don't see the matchmaking portion of Groupfinder changing anytime soon.

I am not talking about the hardest dungeons as I have said repeatedly in this thread. Like I said above, there seems to be no further benefit in arguing this as most of you seem to be content with the way things are, which is fine. Myself? I would want something better.

    Greetings,

Seeing as this thread has runs its course and become mostly non-constructive back and forth, we have decided to go ahead and close it down. While we understand disagreements and debates are natural, discussion should stay on topic. Resorting to Rude/Insulting comments about other members is never acceptable.
