Accidentally interacting with Torchbugs with Mirri equipped

Regularly when I'm looting things with Mirri tagging along, there'll be a random torchbug that looms out of the shadows right at the wrong moment, and I'll get a snide comment and rep decrease from Mirri, when I had zero interest in looting the little blighter.

I wondered if it might be feasible in a future patch for the rep decrease to occur when actually looting the torchbug, as opposed to just opening it? Then it would reflect intent to kill it, as opposed to just stroking it or admiring its voluptuous thorax, or whatever?

Or is it just me? :neutral:

    I have accidentally done this more than once with Mirri out. Without trying she ends up maxed out again.

    Just ignore her. The rapport decrease is so small as to not matter, especially if you are actively building rapport, and there is a cooldown of a couple minutes on the rapport decrease.

    If you are just having them follow you around and not actively building rapport, then you just need to keep it above the "she thinks you're scum" part of the rapport line. :smile:

    Happens to me, too. Weird. We deliberately kill all sorts of animals and humans together, but she freaks when I accidentally kill a bug.

    They knew exactly what they were doing when they implemented it. It's such a SPECIFIC thing to drop rapport and torchbugs seem to congregate anywhere you need to interact with it or jump over something.

    I read a bookcase once in a while, when I visit a bank or delve or whatever, about every hour, keeps her at max, despite my little torchbugtoothpick mishaps :D
    Edit = Typos ... as usual. <;D

    Open a bug report ticket that even if you don't hit E to take the bug it gets you a rapport drop. It's a bug plain and simple so perhaps if enough people report it they'll fix that.

    There are PC addon fixes to block the torchbug bug, and also one to auto-unsummon Bastian the whiny whenever you interact with a crafting table.

    Alternatively just port to clockwork city every so often and wait for the rapport increase crredit. It's worth 25 torchbugs so you can sit there and pull the legs off 25 bugs in front of Mirri every day without problem.
    Too many toons not enough time
