Switching between M&KB to Controller Issue

Since I made the switch to PC last year I've always used both mouse and keyboard with my Xbox controller. Today every time I use my controller then go hit a key one the keyboard the game has to reload the UI. It doesn't seemlessly switch between the two like it usually does.
Anyone else having this issue?
