How Many Players Are This Good?

nightyell

Battlefields is a great part of the game, except for the toxicity and these crazy players, usually 1 out of 12, that kill everyone in their way. The toxicity is easily dealt with by adding the player to the ignore list. I'll admit that I am not a very good player in Battlefields and would benefit from constructive criticism from advanced players. Usually, I kill 4-8 players, assist about the same, and die a lot. I like this part of the game, so how do I even get started when competing against players this good?

I've hit such numbers before. It depends on the situation, game mode, hostile team coordination, and whether your opponents are actually good or not. Also it could just very well be someone who's good with execute abilities so sometimes it's good to look at their Ally's assists to see whether they're coordinating as a unit or not.

I like playing support based players, usually a healer or tank in MMO games. In PVP, I'm not different. I like support roles, because with me there I can heal, debuff, buff or protect groups members from dying or allow them to add to the group kill list.

The issue I have is that it seems on NA PS Server that in GH AD is greatly out numbered by DC and AD. We are typically out numbers by 6v1 yet we can hold keeps most times.

You need to join a guild to get mentoring.

Joining a pug in Battlefields is Sink or Swim. Are they allowing Pre Mades again? I stay away from Battlefields myself cuz I suck so bad, I dont want to ruin the experience of others.

But, if i was going to learn, I would join a guild.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I'll be honest, I would mark myself as an average PVP player. Not great, not bad, I get by.

Usually, when I rack up a ton of kills in a BG is speaks a lot more to my opponents skill level or build than mine. Or even, it speaks to the group I was paired with and their ability to heal or pressure the enemy.

Teams that pressure and heal more are going to have higher kill counts more often than not.

There is also an opportunistic approach to BGs kills as well. If I see 3 players from one team fighting 3 from another and they are all low health, one meteor or any other ult dump with a stun is sometimes enough to get the kill on all of them. Or, if I can hit my execute, or any high damage skill, on a low health player, I am doing it. There is no reason not to do that. The point is to secure kills, any way you can.

There's a pretty big skill gap in this game. Pretty much anyone who regularly competes in high MMR BGs will put up these kind of numbers in an easier lobby. Probably a veteran player that hopped on an alt toon or class they haven't played in a few patches.
I agree with everyone else. Don't let this discourage you, keep fighting and don't be afraid to die. You'll get better and before you know it, you'll find yourself back in a low MMR game and surprised by how easily you kill people.

MMR is a good point too. This past week I have been regearing out my alts after spending a ton of PVPing on my main. All different classes, but the experience spent on my main in PVP still carries over onto my alts that have lower MMR. Which makes me a lot more successful with builds even when I am not as experience on the class specifically.

Yep, sounds like MMR thing. Sometimes you get dropped to lower skill group - either because you didn't play a char for too long, or because some weird matchmaking (especially when not too many players around, like morning time).

Players like that get to higher MMR quickly and compete amongst players of approx the same strength, this festival of blood doesn't last forever.

New toons always start low MMR. So I make a Stamblade and for my first 5 BGs, I'll have to go through low MMR.

The truth is though, I hit those kinds of numbers on high MMR bgs sometimes as well because usually there are not 12 top tier players to fill bgs.

At the "high" MMR bgs, you get a spread of players--around 4-6 players who will get decent KDR (kill/death ratio), same number of players who break even, and the rest will usually go something like 3-8 or even 0-10 or something like that.

Anyway, some constructive criticism to raise your KDR:

First, prioritize not dying over scoring kills. The better you get at staying alive, the more opportunities you will find for scoring kills.

Instead of going for (4 - 8), aim for (2 - 0). I'd much rather have a (2 - 0) teammate than a (4 - 8) teammate. But the truth is, if you can stay alive the whole match, you'll get more kills anyway.

Here are some simple useful tips to help you survive:

    (1) more max HP: 28,000 ~ 32,000 is reasonable for any build in any class

    (2) enough sustain: numbers depend on class, some classes require more (i.e. stamplar), some less (i.e. sorc), but generally speaking you need enough resource sustain to block, roll dodge a couple times, cast heals, and sprint

    (3) buffs and heals are more important than getting kills: at least at first, until you get good enough to know when and how to take risky engagements. Even if you're 3v1ing someone, just rotate into your back bar every 4-5 seconds, heal up and rebuff before you start attacking again.

    (3) awareness: keep track of where the other 11 players are. If you don't know where the other players are, then don't go on a 10 second offensive because you're going to get bursted from behind and die.

    (4) positioning: don't be the guy that gets sandwhiched between two enemy teams. Do be the guy that always comes in to sandwhich the enemy team. If you're dying too quickly, move from cover to cover and don't walk through open areas unless you know it's safe. If 8 players are looking at you with their crosshairs on your character, don't gap closer in, disengage until they forget you're there and then engage.

Overall what I'd tell you is, be more choosy about going on the offensive. Pick your moments. You're the most vulnerable in ESO PVP when you're going on the attack, so that's when you're most likely to die. Hope it helps.

Look at your first shot. You circled player with most impressive stats, but actually there was another one who contributed more for their team. Not always the one with most kills is the best one, sometimes without that one who supported the team in critical moments who was sacrificing his kills for the team mates.

Another thing is that it usually such scores are achievable vs new uncoordinated players. There are BGs when I end with 15-0-15 score, and there are those when I end with scores like 4-4-4. It's highly dependent on teams composition.

Don’t play a ranged spec and allow the melee’s to do the tanking for you, this is what loses games. Even if you are a ranged spec, you must stay with the melee’s.

Become survivable enough where you can stack with your team.

Don’t break positioning with your team to chase kills.

Always be aware of both enemy teams position and position yourself to avoid getting sandwiched between enemy teams.

Attempt to sandwich an enemy team between your team and the other, damage the sandwiched team.

I got 26 kills 0 deaths on a gank build for the weekly endeavor this week. There is always that 1-2 newbs that get thrown into any BG and if you identify them and then set up a spawn kill loop you can carry the whole game. I had the 3 out of 4 purple team members stuck in spawn while their good/tanky team mate did the pillar humping routine with everyone else. My team was complaining that I wasn't helping the team, but he changed his mind when he seen the final score.

I do consider myself to be a very good ganker, but that is just one skill set and not the same skill you are enquiring about. Setting up that spawn kill loop could technically work on any class if you are a stage 4 vampire, but I think nb would still be the best. Just want to keep going from spawn point to spawn point while invisible and collecting those free kills. If you are visible they will often just stay in spawn as a form of protest. Even when they can't see you they sit there and wait for a team mate which won't help them because they are not communicating the issue to their team anyways. You can visibly walk away from their spawn while they are in the death screen and once out of sight you cloak and come back to trick them into thinking you are gone. It still works even without the noobs you just have to be good enough to gank the pillar humpers before they run back to the mosh pit.
I wrote a poem that I titled, "The ganker's delight."

As you lay upon the ground, cry not little pawn.
The pain will pass as quickly as my blade did take you,
but my delight will last and you will respawn.
My heart simply cannot contain my joy, when I ply my trade.

The fault lies with you, your skill was lacking.
Now your salt is mine forever, can't you hear the laughing?
Once you were so proud and now you are reduced to this.
    A miserable, loud deuced fool.

With every tear you drip, with every excuse you let slip.
All of your insecurities and worries bring a smile to my lip.
From your despair I have ripped endless glories,
but our affair is over now. Be afraid for I will return for more.

I have received many titles, to my allies I am The sniper Emperor and Grand champion hero of the Pact. However these titles mean little to me, it is the ones given to me by my victims that I prefer. Practice, practice, practice. Nothing ventured nothing gained. You have to lose a lot to start winning a lot. Obviously more factors go into it, like teammates, enemy coordination, your understanding of counterplay and how to counter enemy playstyles.
But ultimately, practice is the best way to progress. Counterplay is probably the most important thing to do well. Know when to attack, when to back off, when to ult dump.

Maybe to start off, record a clip of you playing and re-watching and analyzing the way you play and seeing where you went wrong or what you did well. You can learn a lot about the way you play or how to improve by re-evaluating your own playstyle. That's probably the best starting point

KBs are the most overrated stat in any PvP imo. You could literally take 90% of player's health solo and dude comes along and gets the last hit in and gets the KB credit.....what did he/she do? I am the king of kill stealing in any BG with my stamblade, have gone 20+ and zero deaths many a time because I'm cloaked then target someone low health (that someone else did) and burst them up basically one-shotting them.

    Greetings all,

Just a friendly reminder that Naming and Shaming is a violation of the Community Guidelines, and is stated as follows:
    • Naming-and-Shaming: We do not allow posts or threads that are created for the purpose of “naming-and-shaming” other community member(s). “Naming-and-shaming” is the act of creating a post to call out an individual or group by name, and making them the subject of public accusation, ridicule and/or shaming. Generally, naming-and-shaming involves an in-game situation and/or Terms of Service violation, which the ESO Community Team is unable to assist with. A certain amount of rivalry and competitive razzing is healthy for any game community, especially one with PVP elements, but naming-and-shaming goes well beyond that. It typically elevates to a point where the subject feels legitimately harassed. We believe that naming-and-shaming posts and threads can be abused and are very harmful to the community. We also don't feel that publicly calling out or accusing others by name on our forums is in spirit of the game or our community. If you genuinely believe someone has violated our Terms of Service, you should report them in-game via the support interface — do not bring the situation onto the official ESO community forums.
If there may be any questions in regards to the rules, please feel free to take a few moments to review them here.

Does this include dogpiling on people who post? Because dogpiling and upvoting each other to make a person look bad is no different than naming and shaming. The intended result is to character assassinate a person.

Tends to be situational. For example I've had Kill/Death/Assist 11/3/22, which you can find on YouTube (Fred ESO / Is Stamsorc OP?). The reason? I play mostly in Imperial City and Cyrodiil. The rare times I go into BGs, my MMR is low and not reflective of my true ability. I was also running a simple build that does not work that well against better players, but that turned out to work really well in low MMR BGs. Some builds rack up the kills, others yield much poorer numbers, even when you feel you're playing well.

22-2 is not even good. I hit 30+ and 0 in 98% of my BG games. I hit at least 15 and 0 against players who are actually good at the game on my server who pre made a cancer group lol. 22-2 is obviously better than most people but still miles off being anywhere near at the top of the food chain.

A few. I myself reached such numbers, too. I think my best was something up to 50 kills once :). Not sure what my highest score was, but hitting 4k or 5k is nothing special. But it also already happend that my death count was as high as my kill count. It highly depends on many factors. Teammates, game mode, situation and so on. I had matches where I could kill a whole team by myself, even a few times both teams by myself at once, I also had times where our whole team could barely stand against one or two other enemies. I mostly pugged.

Even if you have the best build ever, it will have a weakness and loose against specific other builds if played at least by a somehow skilled player, its sometimes like rock, scissor, paper.

But sometimes (especially during pvp events) there are plenty of player who seem even not to understand what they are doing in battlegrounds, have pve gear, are to frightend to do more than a snipe from distance, have no clue about tactics or are just bad.

Also it is usually hard if you play with randoms against a premade group, this is often a sure loose.

As others have said, statistics do not show the full story.

A lesser skilled player on magsorc with a good team can secure all the kills with execute, making them look godlike. Or a Stam character using Spin2win. Do they still need good positioning and timing, yes.
But it is vastly different to getting the same stats while always fight 1v3 or 1v4.

MMR is character specific, and it gets reset every so often. They may be an experienced player on that character or class but haven't touched it in a while, but their experience will carry them though.

Yes, but it's not their fault really, as MMR is per character and your new characters have to go through low MMR stage. Won't take long.

I had similar scores recently on my meme characters that I started taking to BGs to level pvp skill lines. Ten games later, and I have reverse scores, when I am matched with actual pvp players :)
