Set Drops in Dungeons with the New Improved Drop System (TM)

Trying to "work" the new Improved Set Drop Rate system.

Three possible sets. A, B, C. I want A. I keep getting a ton of B and also a lot of C. I get one piece of A per run at best.

So I keep all of B and C in my bag to let the "AI" know that I have plenty of that thankyou very much, lol.

I have tried hiding the two good (eg: "Divines") A in my bank. Makes no difference.
I have tried gimping myself by wearing the bits of bad A that I have. I can still clear the dungeon, just a tad slower with my Training/Sturdy/etc so no big deal. I thought I'd be announcing to the new AI that "hey looky here, I have a partial set I am wearing so please help me complete it!" No use.

Wondering what is the optimal way to help me improve my poor drop rate and especially how to work the new drop system.

Should I totally trash the gear I'm wearing. Put on a whole lot of green rubbish plus two bits of blue set A? That would surely convince the AI of what I need?

I am expecting replies along the lines of... rotten RNG so far but keep trying lol. But my point is to keep trying, optimally! and I had thought the new system helped mitigate rotten RNG!

Thanks.

Make sure whatever drops is bound to you before killing the next boss is all that you can do, as well as hitting chests you see along the way. The rest is RNG.

What spartaxoxo said, you must bind the uncollected items before looting the next boss for it to work. If you're on PC you can use an add on to show in your inventory if you need it for your sticker book, or just check the the top right corner of the pop up where it says "Not Collected" or "Collected". Weapons still take around 30 runs to get them all, or 20ish if you're lucky with chests and get a lot of uncollected weapons.

It gives you a piece that you need in your stickerbook. There is no way for it to read your mind and know the set that you are prioritizing.

You will eventually get all the pieces from the dungeon, but the order they show up in should be random from what you need in the stickerbook and based on what any given boss can potentially drop from their loot pool.

How do people misundetand how something works so badly?

What are you talking about banking, bad traits, and green armor?

Every boss will give you one piece of armor from the three eligible sets in that dungeons. It will gi e you something that isn't collected in your collection. In any trait.

Some bosses will only drop certain bits. Like first boss might drop legs and hands, while last boss is the only one to drop weapons and jewellery.

The only exception to this is named drops. Some bosses drop a named piece, which sits outside of the curated system.

The only way to "work" the system, which I've been doing, is working out which piece of a set will sell.

This applies to overland sets more. But if you don't collect only one thing, every boss you kill will give that item

I was pumping Kynmarcher mauls out after a few days of the new DLC. Easy money.

Does it apply to monster set shoulder pieces from undaunted chests (5 key)? I opened 3 chests for Kjalnar’s Nightmare shoulders and 3 times got the other set piece with all three armor types. This annoyed me a bit xD

Thank you for this information. I've wondered why I was getting duplicates lately. Now I will bind the gear before setting off into new dungeon adventures.

    No, it doesn't.

Incidentally I spent 120 keys until I finally got the Kjalnar's medium shoulder.

Not that the odds are better or worse with that particular monster set, is that with the implementation of curation for some of the drop sources I had swiftly forgotten how loathsome RNG truly is.

Fortunately there are still many sources of loot that are purely RNG based so I'm sure that if I forget again I will be swiftly reminded of it.

I have been doing that. I swear I have about 20 of one set I don't want with obviously multiples of some pieces. The same pieces just keep dropping.

I am carrying all that excess gear around with me as I assume the game doesn't go ferreting through my banked stuff.

I think I am having really bad RNG, so bad that the system, although improved somewhat, is still not overcoming the bad run I am having. Nothing more.

Hehehe it would be a worry if this new AI for drops could read our minds lol.

No. I have lots of repeat items. Those items were well and truly bound.

Most of us know that already.

Doesn't happen in dungeons. I am proof of that. But thanks for your contribution matey.
