Is it worth it to put more points into the craft hirelings?

I don't want to waste points if they don't give me more of the items or better items

If you're able to collect them regularly, yes. Level 2 gives a little more/better items. Level 3 seems like same quality as level2 to me, but you can get 2 a day if you plan around it, or you can be sure to get one a day if you only play once a day. If you login less than once a day then the third point is useless to you.

I would do it. They sometimes bring you gold items and the stories are interesting to read.

    That's writs, not hirelings.

I only go up to level 2 for the quality increase.

I just can't reliably log in with a single character twice in 24 hours to collect the mats from level 3.

I have the hirelings maxxed out on about 10 characters, even though I only log most of them in once a day to do writs. The reason I took them to the twice a day rewards, is so I can get them once a day, since they are on a full 12/24 hour cooldown and you will miss the rewards quite consistently if you have a daily time/routine you play.

The rewards themselves are decent enough, between the deliveries and survey maps I get/collect, I have not had to harvest for materials for as long as I can remember and have plenty to do daily writs and the occasional Master Writ binges I go on. I like doing 100-200+ master writs at a time during XP events, and have a character that holds them until said events roll around.

in my opinion, it's worth it to max all of them out. i get gold rewards quite often. definitely not all the time, but enough to make it worth it

You can get golden upgrade materials from tier 3 hirelings. Great source of upgrade materials!

    Yeh, for sure.

The skillpoints is nothing to get, and you get gold mats.

Th enchanting one isn't great if you wanted to skip on one.

Food one is ok I guess. But not amazing.

Keep in mind it’s the only way to get two purple ingredients, Frost Mirriam and Brevez Juice so unless you plan to always buy what you need from traders you’ll need the provisioning ones. Also it pays off for the rest as well but eventually you’ll have more skill points than you know what you do with but early on you gotta be more selective.

From what I remember (not done it in a while), but think the writs give them, no?

Indeed I overlooked writs but it’s nice to have as many sources as possible, I often get 5 of either from a single hireling.

I get both of those from provisioning daily writ rewards, yes.

If you have ESO+ or plenty of space to put the stuff, go for it. Otherwise it may be better to hold off until you've put points everywhere else that you want.

Tier 3 have a slightly higher chance of getting a Gold Temper.

Used to be your Extraction Passives and Temper Levels also had an impact on that chance. Don't know if that is really case anymore on the Temper and Extraction passives.

However, main reason to go to Tier 3 is, you get at least one email a day, without chasing the clock.

If you log in daily and don't like farming, yes, it's totally worth it. Especially on multiple characters.

If you're out there farming for the fun of farming or because you're a hardcore crafter, i would still say yes but to a lesser degree. Plus, if anything, you're going to have excess skill points sooner or later, so you might as well.

If you have the points, yes. If nothing else the more points spent into the line, the better the chance for a gold writ.

I actually prefer to get survey maps over master writs, except for Alch/Ench/Prov, for which those Master Writs are great for leveling skills on alts.

I have 18 chars with all crafts maxed and hirelings almost every day bring me at least 1 golden upgrade, very often I get double from one (yes dreugh wax to), sometimes it is more but even purple mats (especially the mastic) are awesome. So yeah, it is worth it.

It’s all about economy of scale.

The more you have, the more often you collect, the high level they are, the better it gets.

With my pack of characters, two main ones and eight retired miscellaneous odds and ends, between them they bring in a staggering amount of raw materials.

To be honest it’s worth it for the food alone, just craft it all up into five gold recipes and dump it on the nearest in game merchant, don’t even bother with the guild store.

It’s worth it for that alone, when combined with surveys the only raw materials you should have any need to go out and find are mushrooms, mud crab chitin and jewellery stuff

To be honest it’s still puzzles me why people bother to buy gold upgrade materials of any of the professions. Between hirelings and especially crafting writs I’m churning out that stuff at a rate so far beyond my ability to use it it’s almost comical

I have five characters and one has maxed out every crafting and gets the most amount of gold mats. The others have the bare minimum and rarely get any gold mats. So, more points into the skill line results into better mats received, including with writs. I do get an a gold on occasion from my other characters but overall my gold mats pop up from my main character who is a master crafter.
