They briefly stop in combat, usually when the target is doing a heavy attack or invisibility move where the mob cannot take damage. Mobs usually continue attacking then putting the companion back in combat, but in a few rare cases the mobs reset and leash even if its just a few steps away. The latter can be frustrating if its a high HP mob and they go back to full health.

I changed my command pet to L1 + Triangle, sometimes I can press it repeatedly and it doesn't fire at least for the companion, the bear and daedric pets are going why aren't you? It's harder to figure out on classes that don't have permanent pets, the companion stands there while I'm spamming the pet command + attack combo and they're like, "hi what are we doing today?" well I'm trying to get you to attack those trash mobs while I wait for the delve boss to respawn!!

The dodge roll problem isn't really a bug, its people don't know how to position their companions near a wall or withdraw them back if they get too far away. If you're fighting a boss where there are open spaces on one side and a wall on the other, go to the wall and have your companion there so when they do roll dodge, they are limited by the wall on how far they can go. The other option is to command pet + block to get them to come back to you for better positioning. And the last solution is the simplest, especially if you're solo is to slot a Taunt like Inner Fire/Inner Beast, +10% damage boost is your incentive.

Tank Mirri will sometimes (while tanking a boss), sheathe her weapon, walk over to me and, after a couple seconds, realize the fight's not over and charge back in to her job. She might repeat this two or three times during a long boss fight and her little breaks are often long enough for the boss to drop taunt. At a minimum, the boss follows her - out of my on the ground AoE killing zone.

After a fight, Mirri will sometimes get stuck in a fully drawn invisible bow stance as she walks and talks otherwise normally. Corrects after a minute or two.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

There are many places where the companion despawns himself/herself. Northern deshaan(college), eastern shadowfen, and many other overland spots. When I'm on a DPS character this is no big issue, but when I am on a tanking spec and suddenly I notice I have 0 DPS after pulling a world boss, it feels really bad.

A couple weeks ago, I was having dialogue issues where the dialogue would start playing in a different place than I was. So I'd have to get ridiculously close before I could hear the ambient dialogue from a scene.

I dismissed Mirri and everything started normally, so sadly she got benched while I finished up Blackwood alone.

Bastian gets unsummoned when I go into water, which I'm sure is intended. However he sometimes does not get resummoned when I get out. It was especially annoying in COA 1 when one has to go into the water constantly and I lost my companion fighting against the final boss.

This quest and probably others like it are bugged.

There's a quest stage where you need to fight Asmalah the Caller and he opens a portal and leaves around the 40-50% HP mark.

That stage never triggers because Companions keep attacking them (possibly the same with pets?), and he just stands there awkwardly even after the HP reaches 0%.

I've noticed this also, I think they despawn in Quest-instanced overland areas

Also, during the Blackwood PTS the boxes you got from Mirri's perk (Hidden Treasure Bag) contained set pieces from that Zone (I only tested overland in Blackwood, it was like a 10-15% chance for a set item or so)

I've never seen a single set piece from them once they made it to Live. It just contains treasure items, recipes and gold mostly. It was never addressed by ZOS as a bug or missing feature since

My husband and I duo Necromancers.
Every time a Necro summon dies, our companions sheathe their weapons and run back to us. For some reason, companions think a summon dying means the fight is over. Then they suddenly realize 'hey we're fighting!' and charge back into the fight.

It's companion yo-yo. When we use the bombs (Blastbones), the yo-yoing is pretty extreme. I've had Mirri run back to me early in a fight because a Blastbone died, turn around to the fight because OH HEY COMBAT, draw her weapons again and start running back to the fight, have my Arcanist die, which makes Mirri sheathe her weapons before getting to the fight, turn around and run back to me, but OH COMBAT, turn back around towards the fight, redraw her weapons, but I just sent another Blastbones out to blow up... will Mirri get into the fight before resetting, AGAIN? Probably not.

At least Bastian isn't continually saying 'Sheathe your weapons, the battle is won' repeatedly mid-combat any longer. He still sheathes his weapons mid-combat when a summons dies, but at least he's not talking about it as much.

These are some unintended behaviors that I observed in the past months:

    - Companions can desync and appear as if they do nothing in front of an enemy. However they actually do things and deal damage, it's just not visible. When the companion desynced and killed an enemy, it can take multiple seconds until the game client notices it and then shows the enemy as dead to you. This can be confusing, because to other players in the group it can look like you are trying to damage an enemy that the companion has already killed.

    - Companions can end up forcibly unsummoned when entering water areas. This has to be unintended behavior, because they should only temporarily vanish - and it works as it should most of the time. But sometimes, companions just unsummon themselves and because we are in combat, it then does not work to summon them back. I think this is somewhat game-breaking when a companion is actually used for tanking. As a workaround, we should be allowed to summon companions while in combat.

    - When companions use the "Mending Incantation" restoration staff skill, companions tend to use this on enemies instead of players. This makes slotting this companion skill not very useful.

    - Occasionally in some strange circumstances (hard to tell what causes this but I noticed it in Blackrose Prison), companions casually think combat is over and walk back to me, while combat is not over.

Mirri when I go to that town with the combined underground guild building. For her first quest when she becomes an ally. A family thing.

    Avoiding spoilers here.

We can do this quest on all our characters. Once, I went to speak to the NPC we were supposed to meet. The NPC was NOT present. Reloadui then and there did not help.

Exit the room. Enter again. Still not present.

Exit the room. Reloadui. Enter the room. Present.

At all times I could see the white quest marker on my map.

Situation is replicable and it does not matter if I have Mirri active or not.

After this bug had been encountered and once the NPC was present then I was prompted twice while inside the guild room to make Mirri active. She was already active!

This a MIrri bug but might happen with Bastian I would suspect.

When we go to a different area Mirri might announce that she is famished etc.
Any time my health gets very low Mirri might announce to not worry, she'll think of something, iirc.

Today after I got a Skyshard I jumped off a cliff to save time. Health extremely low.

Mirri did BOTH of those announcements simultaneously.

A delay whereby the health one triggers and then 10s or more later the hungry one triggers would be much better.

Side note: Overall happy with the implementation. A few bugs here and there for sure but much better than expected for something like this which must have a ton of programming behind the scenes.

If Mirri had her way all the bugs would still be there. ZOS obviously don’t need the rapport…

Bastian sometimes doesn't display his fight animations and looks like he's just standing there

Other items he really will just suddenly act like a fight is over and stop combat. Sometimes the boss will pull him back into it, somtimes not

Strange, I have the same bug with Mirri, but not Bastian. Maybe it's because my Mirri wears an outfit while Bastian wears a costume.

Also I've noticed that companions are temporarily unsummoned in some places in dungeons (Wayrest Sewers, Elden Hollow), usually when you pass through certain narrow passage, and reappear shortly after (as if your passed through a water).

They're too close when walking around. When your character gets stuck or has to jump to get over something, the companion walks right up to you and while pressing X (PS4), the dialog box opens.....great job ZOS??

during a fight, they run away while pulling agro and the baddie runs off chasing the companion...so much for AOE

The companion mechanics were not very well thought out, I turn them off half the time.
Everyone is going in one direction, I'm going the other direction

I don’t have a costume on either, Mirri no longer appears without her gear but Bastion does.
