improving companion gear

Currently only a few stats are considered worthwhile with companion gear such as Aggressive or Quickened, with most stats are often overlooked or ignored completely. Compared to player gear, companion gear is very lackluster and holding back their valuation over how much they can improve the companion.

Option A: Change companion gear to have dual stats. Player gear isn't just the item's trait we also have enchants, skill passives, set bonuses, and champion points; I like to see companion gear having a little more of the same where they can have a primary and lower quality, secondary trait. White items no traits, uncommon items have only a primary trait, superior items have a primary trait and a secondary uncommon quality trait, epic items have a primary trait and a secondary superior quality trait, and if you ever introduce legendary items they would have two traits at epic quality. The secondary trait cannot be the same as the primary, for existing items it retroactively applies a secondary trait semi-randomly selected. Heavy armor has a greater chance to have secondary traits with Vigorous or Bolstered, medium armor has a greater chance to have secondary traits Focused or Shattering, and light armor has a greater chance to have secondary traits with Augmented or Soothing; all items have an equal chance to have secondary traits Aggressive, Quickened, and Prolific. Example: epic Light Jerkin with a primary 1.7% Soothing and 2.2% Vigorous, epic Heavy Cuirass with 2.6% Quickened and 1.4% Aggressive.

Option B: Greatly increase the valuation of less popular traits. At epic quality, most traits fall under two categories the 20.4% Aggressive, Bolstered, Soothing, and Shattering (approximate); the 31.2% Augmented, Quickened, Vigorous, and Focused; and the outlier Prolific at 156% (5*31%). I like to see epic Augmented and Focused increased to 4.2% (50.4% at 12 items). Companions have 0% base critical strike and 1.50% critical damage, at 31% increased critical strike is abysmal even at player's standard, raising it to 50% brings them to a more reasonable DPS gain while still no way of improving their critical damage except through Major and Minor Force buffs. Most companion buff and debuff durations at 8 seconds, 25% Augmented adds only 2 seconds and 31% provides any substantial gains only to Provoke, Crimson Font, and Savage Instinct; Quickened gives more uptime than Augmented as abilities come back up faster to recast. Bringing Augmented to 50% would be on par or better than Quickened for those same abilities with lower cooldown abilities having near 100% uptime while still being useless for abilities without duration effects, still makes it quite balanced imo. Shattering could use a slight increase by +25 at uncommon, +50 at superior, and +75 at epic quality. Vigorous could use a boost to 3.4% (40.8% at 12 items) that would bring Mirri up from 39,300 to 42,000 and Bastian from 40,200 to 42,900. Bolstered and Soothing could be brought up to 31.2% as these are more defensive stats.

Agree, but on the other hand we have many player gear traits of extremely questionable value that just hang out being niche if used at all.

Fortified and Nirnhoned armors come to mind.
