Guards interfere in a duel

... If one of the duelists has a bounty (or gets it in process due to use of vampire/necro abilities).

Since duels are kinda "magically sealed", they definitely should not interfere until the duel is over.

Or more outside of the city and rare locations guards path.

It happened not to me, but to a player I was dueling with. They used a vamp ult, then a guard joined the fun. Needless to say, it became decidedly less fun pretty quick.

... I wonder why most threads have someone chime in with something to the effect of "you can find a workaround around the bug, so don't report it"?

Hmm. I never assumed it was a bug.

Because it doesn't appear to be a bug. Which part of the situation appears to not be working exactly as intended? In addition, if it were to work in the suggested way so that you could be completely immune to these negative effects while you are in a duel state, you don't think that could potentially be abused at all to completely circumvent part of the intended justice system?

    .

    Wow, I love this idea
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Hm, sounds as if they recently changed something. I haven't done it this patch but last time I duelled inside a city on my necro, the guards would patiently wait untill we were done duelling. As the duell lasted several minutes I casted a lot of "evil" skills and got a quite high bounty but no guard attacked me.

It does appear to be a bug. The part of the situation that doesn't appear to work as intended is that the duel is not completely insulated from external interference.

And nope, you can't really abuse it to completely circumvent a part of the justice system because you cannot interact with essentially anything while in a duel, and it has a limited range, so you can't even realistically use it to run from the guards while you have a bounty. Not that the latter is problematic at all unless you are in an enclosed space like a bank/guild/whatever, but the duel won't help you there, either.

Why do you think it's a bug. It says on the skill it will draw guards attention, and it's drawing their attention....

It's a massive world and you can duel not near a guard. In fact most other players would prefer that too so you aren't in a town.
I think picking a better location to duel is a valid answer on a few fronts

I don't see how that's a bug. Why should you be insulated from external interference? Was it ever stated that was the intention with dueling? If it was never stated as such, then the intended behavior should be exactly what it is when you're out of a duel. Find the patch note/quote from a dev stating you are intended to be insulated and you'll have a logical case. Otherwise, you're using your own head canon as a logical argument which doesn't work.

They rightfully should since you're disturbing the peace and quiet of the citizens in the town.
