Bastian and crafting writs

I would love to know who thought it was a great idea giving you negative raport if you craft anything with cheese. This is ridiculous and can't count how many times I forget to unsummon bastian.
Oh and I got a firsthold fruit and cheese recipe pop out of one of the writ containers and he got all excited about it. Like seriously?
Fix this zos. It's dumb and makes no sense.

Yeah, between him getting annoyed with cheese crafting and Mirri disliking it when you look at a torching funny, Companions make for odd gameplay sometimes.

I love the idea of companion, but honestly I always forget to use them. They often make encounters more difficult, not easy.
