Agreed. I always have to look up the sourcing for specific pieces. They could just add it as a tip on the set collections page

Perhaps a change in title to better indicate what you want? To answer the statement made at the end of your post, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Hover over an item and it just says "This item can be obtained from X"; I'm sure an addon could also easily do it if there was enough drive to make one.

... while yes, I would still like it to be easier to find, I have to say, I honestly did not know that was there. The only time I had used that menu was to use the get me unstuck feature. ... now I feel blind.

Don't feel bad. Very common. I swear that people just don't read the help stuff. They will go out and search Google before looking at the help that comes with whatever it is they are using.

In general this specific case aside tho, there has been a problem of legislating from the forums and blindsiding the general ESO population.

What about crafting motifs? Is there anything in-game that tells us where specific motifs drop from?

Look up the motif achievements, they have all of the sources written there.

There was another topic where I pointed out how to control pets. Don't feel bad, you're in the majority, I believe, and I think perhaps the help menu should be more visible. Perhaps a button on the small message boxes which show tutorial information. Or maybe not that but a mention about the default hotkey for the help menu on each tutorial popup, or just outright bring up the help menu instead of the little message box. Something to make it more visible. There's a wealth of information in there and players don't use it and/or don't know it exists and refer to Wikis/UESP for answers instead.
