Would you like to be able to set your online status from the character selection screen?

When you log into the character selection screen, would you like to be able to choose how you appear to be seen online? We currently have to log in as our last chosen status to be able to change our status. For example, if you want to be set to offline, you have to go online to set yourself to offline. It's a little redundant.

Honestly this isn't a big deal for me, but I'm sure it is for some folks, so if it got added, fine.

I don't use the status feature (I don't want to be completely unreachable, and folks tend to disregard the "busy" or "away" status anyway), but this seems like it'd be a great quality-of-life upgrade.

I don't use the feature, but if it matters to you, couldn't you set yourself as "Offline" just before you log out? I assume that's what you are trying to do.

I am always set to Offline, but if people want it, sure why not?

Yes! And sometimes, how I last logged off isn't the same mood I'm in now, so I don't want to go online just to pop back offline! Having to go online just to go offline is so irritating, and could be fixed if we could choose our status from the character screen.

Don't see a need for it, just set yourself to offline before you log out or even just after you log in, unless you have that one really annoying friend who is keeping track of when your online most people don't take much notice of your status.

Unless this has changed, it's a bit of a two-way street appearing offline.

Without addons, the game UI would always tell you when your friends log on or off.

So say you just want to train a bunch of horses or do a bunch of daily writs -- the default system will spam every one of your online friends "X is online; X is offline" over and over again if you don't change your status.

I like this idea because sometimes you just want to do your daily chore list and then leave. So you'll set to do not disturb or offline or whatever, so people don't waste their time talking to someome who's gonna be in and out. Having to do after login is a a very small hassle but it's probably an easily fixed one as well.

The only problem with the "offline" setting is that you can whisper people, but they can't whisper you back.

My answer is yes, as long as it is not to complicate to implement. I think there are other priorities.

Yes, as silly as it is sometimes I'll log in but get up to go get something, and when I come back and sit down at my desk I see all my friends and guildies that messaged me trying to get my attention for like.... 5+ minutes.

Yes, on the odd day it would be nice to have peace and although I do most days anyway it's nice knowing that if you are on a day when not feeling sociable you can have that peace with either offline or do not disturb. Having said that I don't see it as a high priority issue but a nice QOL improvement.

I think it's important compared to other games because of audience eso attracts. A lot of people just prefer to be alone or just want to hide from people

With all the stuff they randomly fix that no one asks them to, this could be slipped into some future patch and I would be so happy

Yes, usually I enjoy playing with friends but occasionally I don't have a lot of time or just want to play solo so I would appreciate the ability to set my online status before I log in. That way I don't get messages as soon as I log in and can choose whether or not I want to talk with people.

In my opinion the most needed change to offline mode is that people in offline mode either can't send chat messages anymore or automatically are set to online for 5 minutes after sending a chat message.
It's so annoying to get multiple "Hey, why are you ignoring me?" messages from someone who is in offline mode and not being able to tell them you can't reply to them because of their settings.

Also I only have nice people on my friend list who respect me, so I rarely use offline mode.
