Harvest multiple surveys in one pass

I am glad that ZOS shrank the reset distance a little bit on surveys for jewelry and DLC zones. It would be far better, please, to simply allow all surveys in the backpack inventory to be looted in one fell swoop. The game knows how many are in inventory, so it is certainly possible to multiple the harvested amount by that quantity and consume all surveys in one pass when they harvested in one fell swoop. Thank you!

I do like being able to send different characters out with different surveys, so I do not want you to delete them or auto-deliver. The hirelings do auto-deliver quite nicely, well, except for jewelry.

yes. please. it would be such an immense QoL.
it's already bad enough that we have to go through 20-odd zones, with several locations each.
claiming one's surveys really doesn't need to be such a day-job level chore.

on the same subject, making them tradeable, or redeemable through a crown store assistant would be fantastic.
i imagine the latter option is more attractive to ZOS, i'm certain it would sell well.

TBH just having the survey locations on your map if you have visited them before would be amazing (guess the console player....)

I would also take less total resources if I could get it all at once or have a hireling do it for me.

This could be an easy win for a QoL update. It's a mundane task that was great at first to a resource starved new explorer, then became a necessary grind for what you needed. It needs an update to address the time spent for the reward. (This is also from a console angle with no add-ons)

I can't stress this enough. Make more options with companions. One beeing the option to send them out to pick surveys, at the cost of losing a little rapora.

While this would be a great change on the surface, you have to remember that the time cost associated with surveys is a factor. Once we are in a situation where we can consolidate and harvest in less time, don't be surprised if there is a nerf to the yield at the same time.

Time as a cost absolutely has to be considered, even for things like surveys and I'm assuming ZOS realizes this.

I just wish they would stop adding surveys with every new chapter. When they didn't do it with Summerset I thought great they are done having surveys in Chapters. NOPE! My bank cannot handle more and more surveys every year.

Surveys should be base game only!

lol imagine companions can do your surveys that would be less time consuming for sure

Also something to help manage hireling grab, like log on 1 toon only for whole account and grab hirelings for whole account, instead of logging per toon

I have been asking for this for a long time. I can't possibly live long enough to harvest all the surveys I have already.

Not in 1 pass, RNG is way to fickle to accept this & get 10x a really poor amount/item
but auto-respawning on completing until you are out would be a better option...

I would gladly accept half as much resources and spend skill points on hirelings to not spend entire game sessions collecting surveys just because they're too valuable to trash. When people consider destroying something made to reward them, it should be re-evaluated.

I do think we all would like things to be easier. However, I do not think Zenimax will make this easier being they are aware we would have piles of surveys because we chose to let them stack up.

sell us a NPC that we can load up with surveys and he/she/it/them would gather the materials from these for us.
I would pay 5k crowns for such assistant.

I'd want it as an option, not as a system change, unless also the RNG part of having increased yield from CP passives was reworked to compensate.

The reason for that is, I like saving my surveys. I would not like it if I had the bad fortune of having my entire stack of Jewelry Surveys give me the RNG of no increased yield on every one of those surveys in the stack/zone. That would be awful.

Yeah, I was about to post the same thing, then saw your response. I would much rather pick something 3+ separate times, than toss all my eggs in one basket and get one really crappy roll on a jewelry node and wasting those maps, which i am certain would happen *way* more often than getting a good roll and raking in the mats.

I think the shortest range to reset a survey is Western Skyrim's Enchanting nodes, you only need to go a little past the scripted animal brawl (after you kill them) not even past the rocky ground. I wish all surveys were that short.

If you have so many surveys at each location that resetting them is a "chore", why are you even bothering to do writs?

Seriously though, just put them all onto one toon built for speed and spend like an hour or two a week clearing them out. If you do it methodically, zone by zone, you'll get through them relatively quickly and you'll be stinking rich by the end (if you aren't already...)

For me, a QoL change could be, at least, that when you open the survey a repeatable quest starts that points me EXACTLY to where the hell I have to go.

A lot of great suggestions. Personally I would be happy with just having the survey locations marked on the map once you've harvested them the first time. I do them so infrequently that I have to look up maps on my phone damn near every time I go to do them. (Console player here)

100% agree this is an area for much needed improvement.

For me the bigger issue isn’t the time it takes going to each location (over and over and over) nearly as much as it is that each individual survey map is its own inventory slot.

However, regarding the one-pass solution, I’d personally be happy to accept whatever RNG loss I’m dealt if it meant clearing out an entire stack on one pass. If it saves me time and tedium on each stacked survey, so be it. I’d just think of it as a “convenience fee” and get back to playing.

I really hope this issue is a main focus for QoL updates for our next QoL update. Should I mention companion gear-related inventory bloat in this as well?

A crafting assistant that we give surveys to would be great. That way we don’t spend game time on what feels like a chore and can then go adventure and kill monsters.

Throws wallet at screen…… take my monies ….

I'm not interested in having the same rng factor, which can be really bad at times, applied to all my survey reports in same location.
