how do I buy outfit slots for companions?

I'd like to take advantage of the outfit slots sale and buy a few for the companions. How do I set it to use on companions only?

You can't. Those are Player outfit slots.

ZoS still hasn't sold or otherwise made available a way to increase Companion outfit slots.

Only 1 outfit per companion, got to share it among your characters. Alternatively Costumes can be individually set so you can have a unique look per character that way. If they wear the same costume as your character, it will use the same color palette so you can't have it different from yours.

I was already messing around it.

Well... If so, then I have absolutely no use for it on my characters.
It could have been an interesting feature now on companions, specially if we could add the missing helmet.

That's why I'd prefer to buy outfits and helmets for companions.
I'm ok with only one outfit slot on characters, I don't need more, but only one outfit on companions is very poor.

Yes they need to expand the functionality a bit.
