increased time between eso+ freebies?

Has anyone heard an explanation for why the time between eso+ free items (tiny statues and paintings) is increasing? We have always gotten a new one roughly every four weeks but the current one will be 42 days and the upcoming painting will be available for 48 days if I recall correctly. At first I thought maybe due to holidays they are around longer due to office closures and whatnot but going back thru showcases til last holiday season, it was the same 4 week model as normal. They always have a free item in the upcoming months crown store showcase but according to the dates there will not be a new item this December unless they are doing something completely different. Anyone have any info on this?

Did I complain or say anything negative at all? No. I am curious why the change from normal. I guess that's not allowed.

I stopped subbing when the free crates stopped so I feel you. Considering the only benefit to the sub outside of the normal stuff is reduced prices in the already inflated crown store I don't see a reason to bother.

Would you rather get less with the sub or the sub price rise to match the real wage inflation ?

Shrinkflation applies to games too - there's a set of psychologically important but otherwise meaningless numbers like $9.99 where it's better in marketing to reduce what you get rather than put the price up.

It's not free. It's a ESO+ benefit and you need to pay for that. If the time between new free statuettes increases, you are getting less for the same money.

Also there is plenty of reasons why people would legitimately complain about free stuff. For example if the free stuff came with loads of unwanted responsibility or inconvenience.
Imagine a truck load of high quality fertilizer being gifted to you unpackaged right on your doorstep and now that it's yours its on you to deal with that huge pile of high quality dirt. You think it's in the way? How dare you! It's free! You are not allowed to complain about free stuff, so get to shovelling already, your landlord wants it gone by this afternoon.

(In all seriousness, people like to bargain and haggle and evaluate how much value they are getting for their money. This is not what "the human race has come to," it's what the human race is and always has been, through all recorded history. It's not some shocking new thing.)

Considering ESO+ is available for purchase across several countries with several different currencies and economies behind them, "shrinkflation" is definitely the wrong way to go about it because that universally impacts all customers rather than simply adjusting the cost individually depending on the economic situation in each country - which they also do in addition to shrinking benefits, assuming this is indeed what is happening here.

I am hoping this is just a one time thing. That maybe some model was not ready to be released or something.

But lately I can’t help the feeling that zos is viewing eso+ members as burdens rather than valued customers.

But you know what has changed? ZOS giving away crown crates whenever they were having a free trial period to compensate the people with active subscriptions for the days of overlap as those weren't added on top of the active duration of their subscription. When ZOS did them away, they said they would start releasing these little statues and offer discounts for ESO+ members. So recent or not, it is a part of the ESO+ package deal and if those are happening less frequently now then ZOS is altering the deal unilaterally.

It’s not free when it’s part of the subscription we pay for.

I had noticed the increase in time as well, but wasn't sure if it's a temporary thing or is the new normal. I don't have any strong feelings about it either way. My strongest feeling is that such a change would give me more time to claim a gratuity while it's still in the Crown Store; but the flip side is that it also makes it a bit more confusing as far as knowing when it's that time of the month to check the Crown Store for it-- which would mean having to either pay more attention to the announcements for the Crown Store showcase, or check the Crown Store more frequently than I tend to do, or both.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

If it's intentional, it would fall in line with other things introduced that got progressively worse (crates->radiant apex->gem exclusive, etc.), when the change becomes the new normal, another one is introduced, and so on.
