Muthsera's Remorse and Bastian

While completing writs this morning, the Provisioning writ requested Muthsera's Remorse. Upon completing the drink, down in the lower left corner of my screen, the little red icon pops up saying Bastian disapproves.

I didn't know Bastian had particular culinary tastes.

It's the cheese, not the tea. Bastian hates cheese for some God awful reason.

He's allergic to it :D There is a line where he says it does terrible things to his digestion.
Glory to you and your Dunmer House!

Well I'm not shoving it down his throat, so he can be quiet about it and let me do my writs.

For some allergy the smell is enough to start a reaction, or at least that what wy teacher said when i asked why i coulnt eat peanut butter at shcool as i wasnt the one allergic

Or he simply dislike the the fact that you diregard the treat to his life that small piece of cheese is by using it near him

You might consider dismissing him, making a hundred of the Firsthold Fruit and Cheese Plate recipe, and that should keep him quiet; repeat as necessary?

And why does he keep saying his hands are cold? I never know if he’s giving clues to something I could be doing to improve rapport or just chatting rubbish

It is only one point of rapport, with a cooldown. You can make 100 of them in one sitting and only loose one rapport, so if you don't feel like dismissing him, you really don't have to.

Well, I don't have him myself - and some people I know, as well as others who've posted seem to not want to lose a thing....

    Yeah... Get that.

One other thing to keep in mind is the cooldown. If you do have an "oh crap" moment where you make cheese, or grab a torchbug and Mirri sees you, you might as well go on a spree for a few minutes.

    Good thought!

It's an unnecessary nuisance gameplay-wise, granted. But as a useless piece of trivia, there are some strongly allergic people who can have strong reactions (gag reflex if not downright sudden vomiting and dizziness are common) by he mere smell of cheese, even if it's relatively far away. It's not an allergic reaction proper as the cheese doesn't come in direct contact to trigger one, but rather a "defense mechanism" intended to tell you "hey, don't eat that", kind of like horses and cows knows what herbs not to munch on I guess.

Mirri on the other hand will gain +1 rapport if you craft an alcoholic beverage ;):D
