Weighted drops for World Sets should be disabled / limited

Weighted drops are really great and usefull feature, however they should not be applied to overland gear. In current state WD can be very easy exploited to target farm certain rare and valuable weapons \ equipment gear, drastically improving chances of getting rare combinations from 1:120 (for all available weapons and their traits + 2 gear slots in drop lists) up to 1:8 for killing World/Public Dungeon Bosses. You just need to fill your collection for this zone with every gear in loot table for bosses EXCEPT targeted weapons. By doing so, you can basically just go and print something like Inferno Spinners staffs (or Bright-Throats, or Briarheart daggers, or any other popular gear), flooding and completely destroying market. I already saw today some examples of it, with people magically taking out of their pockets 5+ inferno staffs for rare sets, and, after they got sold, taking even more of them out of magic pocket.

The whole point of WD system was to help people with grinding for sets from arenas\dungeons\trials, because you just don't have other options to get it, only farming and praying for rng. WIth world sets situation is a little different, you actually can get them without grinding by just buying them. And it is a way for some players to get some gold not only by doing regular writs+mats farming. And yes, i get it, no all account can benefit from it, because rare items in collections were already collected, but it doesn't mean this wont become an issue pretty fast.
So this system should be at least some how limited or totally disabled for world drops, or very soon it will be absolutely no reason for people in farming world sets for getting gold.

Yes, the price of gear will drop because it's no longer rare.

Should continue to be a market for 'good' traited items, and some amount for people filling out stickerbooks.

The point was to make it easier for people to get the gear they needed for a build, and it's doing that one way or another.

    Raw mats still sell well.

Ok, because you want to sell stuff and get rich, other people should not have a way to get a full sticker book in a reasonable time without buying them from you?

With the implementation of the sticker book, those overland set prices already plummeted.

No one is going to just farm specific items to sell because no one is going to buy them anyways. This is a non issue.

The weighted drop system was an AMAZING change in all its areas, including very much the world drops. No more running around in circles for hours hoping for a MS fire stick in that dungeon I could run with my eyes closed (an have in fact fallen asleep farming at times), or trying to hunt down a trader who sells one at a reasonable price. So what if the market is being flooded. I don't give a flying troll's fart about the "market" (sorry, but also not).

So, no thanks to the suggestion, the system is good as is.

I don't see the problem with this. This would already happen anyway since farming for a purple correctly traited drop even if you're guaranteed the weapon is definitely not worth the time when people can reconstruct for mat cost.

But in any case, this and "exploit" could be fixed by having a hidden sticker book that checks things off when they're dropped, rather than when they're bound. So if you decide to sell instead of bind then you're back to RNG for subsequent drops, but you're still guaranteed to get it at least once.

I've been enjoying getting pieces that I hadn't collected yet. Personally, I always deconstruct gear I'm not going to use, since any mats I recover will be put to good use. As for the economy, I think most things tend to be wildly overpriced anyway, so I'm not too worried about whether prices will be forced to come down. Besides, from what I've seen, sellers almost never lower their prices, they only ever seem to raise their prices. The flippers will probably continue to buy up lower-priced listings and relist them at higher prices, so you'll probably still be able to sell your loot without much trouble.

With this new change, now players might only be able to make large amounts of gold from doing daily crafting writs, farming desirable raw materials, farming desirable style pages, farming desirable motifs, farming desirable recipes, selling dungeon and trial runs, and selling Crowns for gold.

This is a non issue. An off trait of an otherwise desirable item has already fallen significantly since stickerbook and reconstruction. If people want to pay more for a perfect trait, fine. If people want to use this method to farm a certain item, fine. I could certainly see this being taken advantage of in the first few weeks after new drops are released, but the market will work itself out. If prices for world drops fall as a whole, I really don't care. The economy will not come crashing down as a result. Find a new way to make some gold.

In fact, this system makes me actually want to replay old zones to fill out my sticker book, which I think is kind of the point.

    Nope.

The new loot system is great because the prices for rare overland drops was absolutely ridiculous, and farming for them isn't fun when you just want to play the actual content.

I say this as a seller who will lose a lot of gold with the new system. I'll just move on to something else to sell. The playerbase has a range of interests besides overland gear, so there's always something to sell to someone.

Overland set farming(if your intention was to sell the pieces) died the moment they announced the new system for Curated Drops. The Sticker Book already had a major impact on it, but now why would anyone waste gold on any piece of overland set if you can just go do some WB/Delve/Public Dungeon and after X amounts of kills you are guaranteed to fill the collection 100%. The only thing that will probably sell is purple jewelry due to the upgrade cost associated with it.

Also forget about using the Dungeon Finder to get a group for a non-pledge Dungeon after everyone fills their sticker books and have no reason to go there other than pledge keys.

Transmutation had already "killed" most of the OL set farming in that 50 crystals are way cheaper than buying the item with the desired trait so it's not that big of a change. Speaking of transmutation, running random dungeons remains the quickest way of getting crystals, not to mention a hefty daily XP boost, so I really don't think people will stick to pledges (and not everyone runs them daily, or on all of his alts, I surely don't run 14*3 pledges a day, so the vast majority of people will have different pledges at least on their alts and many on their mains too.
Honestly, all of the issues that are being raised in this topic sound like non-issues to me.

Transmute crystals. You get ten for your first random dungeon per toon per day. And since you're going to have all the gear, you're going to want to be able to recreate it whenever, right?

To shorten your whole post, you are basically complaining that you will make less money out of other players bad luck.

Now to get your story a bit straightened up:
Out of all the overland sets available more than 95% are completely worthless. Out of the remaining sets most items are worthless as well except for a handful of weapons. After the stickerbook came in you could litterally buy whole sets for a total of 50k or less. Prices for the handful of weapons dropped already because players no longer have to buy duplicates. Now these items become more widely available.
To put it into perspective we are talking about 10-15 weapons worth something out of 1838 overland set pieces.

As a player that works, attends college, and has a child, I approve of this change. I want to actually play when I can play and not spend hours trying to get 1 item to complete a set.

Today I spent about 30 minutes in Deshaan's public dungeon completing the 10 weapons I still needed. It was amazing to get new drop after drop and gave away a dupe Mother's Sorrow Inferno staff from a chest. Seems you will have to farm money some other way now but I'm absolutely loving this new system.
