Chat window on pc

I like to keep my chat window on the right side of the interface; however, every now and then for no apparent reason it will default back to left. I don't know how to fix this and though it doesn't break anything it's just annoying to have to continue to keep dragging the window. Does anyone have a solution to this either in text doc or somehow in game settings?

There are addons that allow you to set up individual parts of the user interface. I've not experienced what you're describing myself, but I have tried having the chat box lower right, but any time I open any type of menu, the chat box bounces back to the bottom left while the menu is open. Hoping there will be an update to this function because it would be neat to keep the chat box at a custom position without the use of addons - the fact we can reposition it but it chooses to bounce all over the screen at least while having menus opened, and in addition to that repositioning itself indefinitely in your case and I'm guessing others too, feels like somewhat of a design oversight. I'm keeping it at the bottom left corner for now, because the constant ping pong it does over the screen when opening menus (dialogue, inventory, bank, et cetera) becomes a bit of a headache.

I've tried to lock the window but it doesn't help. It doesn't happen everyday but it happens enough for it to be annoying, especially if it happens on the 6 characters that do everyday randoms and pledges with.

maybe some other screen menu overlaps with chat? had mine also on right side and locked-it doesnt move-ever

Also if the chat can stop collapsing every time I go into the Outfit station, crown store, etc. that would be great.

I might think I am locking it and I am not so I'll give it another go. I don't use lui addon or any other addon that changes interface other than skill bar or adds to it such as wading kilt.
