Vistor permissions and crafted doors in housing

I noticed that a visitor to my house was unable to operate my crafted Markarth door. Works fine for me. I have my visitor permissions set to "limited". Is that what's causing visitors to be unable to interact with the crafted door, or is that something that visitors can't do under any conditions?

    Visitor = Anyone can interact with objects, doors, lights, fountains etc
    Limited Visitor = Only the home owner and people with permission can interact with objects.

    Note that this only applies to doors placed by the owner, not doors in the base house.
