Pledges

Looking to get the Domihaus headgear this week and finding it was a golden vendor offer, I duly purchased.
Having 20 unspent undaunted pledge keys, I thought I would give it a shot with Urgalag and the Horns of Reach coffer, and yes you guessed it, got 4 lots of Earthgore in succession. Its an either or? on the outcome.
If you were to flip four coins, what are the chances that they would all come up heads?”
In this situation, you have four coins that are all independent events. So in this case, the correct calculation to determine the probability is:
½ x ½ x ½ x ½ = 1/16
ZOS is there something seriously wrong with your server random number generator algorithm or is it just rigged?.
So here is a suggestion, an opportunity for a Casino, not ground breaking, Asherons Call did this years ago. All the accumulated stuff we have gotten over many years, that we have always considered "high value" , a chance to gamble it against something we really wanted in the first place. Just a thought.

I would not consider 1/16 as an extremely low chance...

From what I understand, each coffer covers two dungeons. So the formula would be more like 50/50 as to which dungeon and then 33/33/33 for light / med / heavy.

Others has reported tilted loot tables at the key vendors. One was 10 of one shoulder over any weight and zero if the other who was the biz one.
remember farming WGT for SPC, it was now jewelry outside the named neck and only the named destro staff from quest but so many bow over around 50 runs.
1.5 million gold spend in the key vault solved this.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I can sympathize. Sometimes I get so mad at the RNG that I just log off.

To be honest, luck is luck (or misfortune is misfortune; however you want to call it) and just that you are able to calculate how the chances are that an item may drop doesn't necessarily mean that in 100 runs the item will drop like your calculated average chance.

Sure, it is annoying but you can't really change anything about it but become more patient. In contrast to years ago, you have way better chances to obtain what you are looking for. Before ther were just three pools where you could invest your keys in, now you can either gamble and use the old pools or invest a bit more keys and reduce the pool of items that may show up significantly. This is already way better compared to years ago.

But over the years ZOS simplified access to gear notably. Just look at how often certain people had to run vMA to obtain the fire-destor staff in the correct trait. I still remember one guy in my old guild where he at some point quit chasing the vMA fire-destro stuff further. He cleared that arena a couple hundred times by then and didn't drop one single destro-staff. He even was fine with any trait by then, but ZOS had other visions for him it seems. Then ZOS allowed us to swap traits by investing 50 transmutation crystals which you could farm in PvE and/or PvP. Some time later they then changed that in vMA now perfected weapons drop while in normal you could farm the normal versions of those weapons. However, all of the previously farmed vMA weapons all of the sudden were just normal weapons and you had to regrind those perfected weapons in vMA again, with the same loot-luck as before. I guess in my first 10 vMA runs I obtained the bow like 8-9 times. While someone would have wished for my "drop-luck" I was also annoyed becaused I wanted the staff and not the bow.

In the end, at one point you will obtain your shoulders. If everything will drop immediately you probably won't value those items as much as if you really had to invest time and energy into obtaining it.
