I would love to see the same sort of "group boss" for the next event ! Maybe add some rewards or achievements, but this is really cool ! Plus it allows people to fight together rather than farm the event alone, and I LOVE this kind of activities
I'm a single character man.
Stamblade. Khajiit. Mostly pvp.
And...that's it.

I solo 99.9% of the content due to many reasons, hence I bought the latest DLC for the companion. This boss event for me is a skip, due to not being able to complete it even with said companion. I am glad you enjoy it but I'll just do my regular routine and pretend it don't exist. Honestly, I would have preferred an open world boss to this.

On the bright side though I may actually be able to complete some map WB sites now.

They shouldn’t make it instanced tho because they way it’s designed it points to solo play

Agreed. Would have been much better if it was like a public dungeon. It was a nice change, but between the grouping and the lack of any real rewards I feel like once was enough for me.

It's not unsoloable, but I agree that it is a tough fight and you don't really get many indications that you're supposed to group up before you jump into the instance. I figured it out once I was already inside, and I was too lazy to go back out and find someone to fight the boss with me.

The idea is nice, the implementation is shoddy. I went into this fight excited but was disappointed that the boss apparently doesn't drop ANYTHING and the only thing you get for doing the quest is 3 Plunder Skulls.
    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts
Kiju Veran: Khajiit Stamblade DPS - Ex-Fighters Guild Suthay who likes to punch things, nicknamed Tinykat
Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends
Celeroth Calatare: Bosmer <insert role here> - Shapeshifting Bosmer with enough sass to fill Valenwood

    PC - NA - EP - CP1000+

Going to skip as well because I keep getting the stamina bug and weapon bars not swapping problems.
Hard is one thing buggy and hard is another.
Finally grouped up and the pug took 3 tries to get it. lmao

If it was a public dungeon, then it would die in 5 seconds, there would be no challenge, which is missing from ESO outside of vet dungeons. Either make it a private solo instance (lower health, lower damage), or scale with the number of players there are (both health and damage).

I love the idea behind this, I would have absolutely loved it if it had a hard mode banner next to the portal to make the fight into more of an event or challenge. But adding these kinds of special bosses is a great idea.

I don't think it necessarily needs to drop anything to be an enjoyable experience but just add a hard-mode banner to make the fight an interesting new bit of content. There has been thought put into this, clearly, with the spiders and snakes coming from the cauldrons and the tombstones summoning zombies. But just make it a challenge for each player by letting them set the difficulty for them, making it a more memorable experience for more players.

After thinking about it, the answer seems as follows:

A choice at the portal of public or private instance. If public instance, scale the boss to the number of players.

So it's the ESO version of the Headless Horseman boss in WoW?
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Soloed it on a magblade. I wouldn't say it's hard, but you have to focus on tombstones and stay on the move. Adding a line of dialogue about "gathering allies" or a confirmation pop-up to enter the instanced zone alone would solve the problem of people being unpleasantly surprised by the difficulty.

I think it's a good addition to the event, even if the rewards are a bit lacking. 300 gold and 3 plunder skulls won't make people feel like they've missed out if they don't do it, at least.

I question the enhanced reward part as my 3 boxes had lower quality junk in them than the boxes I got for regular overland stuff. I used more potions fighting than what the rewards were worth.

If you engage in PVE it’s impossible to not accumulate the requisite feathers.
    - several skulls for public dungeons
    - several skulls for a dungeon
    - several skulls for a trial
    - several skulls for an arena
    - easy skulls for world bosses, insurgents, delve bosses
    - random skulls from a myriad of enemies

There is no real barrier to entry if you do ANY PVE content

If a player is not engaging in any PVE then why should harder PVE content be designed for them?

Won't get skulls while farming crafting mats, won't get skulls while pvp'ing (plenty of people transition to pvp when pve gets dull and would be enticed back by harder content), won't get skulls while decorating.

Tbh i was surprised to die on the first try. On the second try after a bit of prepping up got it down with semistamvampblade on crafted purple gear and pretty random build. Shouldnt be a problem with main stamblade/magplar.

But yea I can imagine it might be a hard to solo without cp.

Those activities are specifically not engaging in PVE. Again, if you aren’t participating in even basic PVE then why would a developer spend time trying to entice you with content above that? Why not just tweak the regular level content.

You must not want to engage in any PVE at all in order to not get plunder skulls because even quest bosses drop them.

I'm perfectly happy with most aspects of most events, but I found this one to be an epic fail. This one should have been a public instance or soloable but NOT an unsoloable private instance.

No, it absolutely shouldn't have (been public). It's absolutely soloable, easier than many WB even. If you need help with it, do group up, I'm seeing non-stop 'LFG for Crow' spam in zone chat, shouldn't be an issue. But finally finally FINALLY you have an option to actually go there alone and experience the fight for yourself and even die maybe, not watch something die to 50+ people before it even fully spawns. Finally something in an event for higher level players too.

That said, I wouldn't actually call it the funest fight they've ever made. Standard lots of AoEs, standard lots of ads, standard wraith-of-crows flying attacks, tombstones being one standing out mechanic but still one I could mostly ignore...they could've done something a lot more interesting but I guess it's more a test than anything. And as such, I couldn't approve more, finally something actually scary-feeling to do, finally taking a fight that's supposed to be challenging to an instance AND finally making it actually put up a fight! Yay!

I do think it should either drop something special or come with some achievement though, that'd only make sense and encourage more people to do it. But it's a great start. Please, by all means, DO bring us more stuff like this.

I think this is the quest that just totally boinked the game for me. Didn't notice the name of it at the time, but you go through a portal and fight this big dude with wings and a bunch of adds spawn out of tombstones...? If so, I beat him, and then the next step was to go talk to Witchmother Taerma, but unfortunately I couldn't portal out, it kept porting back to the boss every time I stepped into the portal, and trying to use a waypoint did the same thing. So I quit the game to see if that might fix things, and now I can't log back in with the character I was doing the quest with. I can log in with other characters, but that one character hangs on "Requesting character load" forever.

Yea it was a fun surprise. Even that theres basically no rewards doing it, it was still something refreshing. Two achievements with group and solo titles.

Yeah would love those sprinkled if appropriate from time to time. And I just love the fact it's instanced so you decide if you want to actually do it or bring a buddy if unable to or just new to the game to figure.

Also it's not forced to anyone as zero achievements attached and rewards aren't anything special. Could imagine people screaming left and right if it was strictly solo, achievement attached and some actual reward present as according to forums some had issues clearing it.

Oh I wish I was your average player. I bought the companion DLC simply to have a tank/healer to adventure with and "HELP" when needed. If your average player can solo it then when you put in a companion it should be easy, but alas it is not. The rewards are garbage so I hear, but for me as a filthy casual that enjoys the overland I will just skip it. It won't be the first thing I skip due to being unable to finish (trials, arenas, vet content etc. etc.)

But as this was, I'm guessing, intended to be a fun event for the masses, it is a fail from this filthy casual.
