ESO vs. other game(s)

I would like to see the global repartition among forum posters, re having a 2nd game aside of ESO yes or no, and if yes, what one is your main. I have tried to adapt the poll options accordingly.

ESO is the only MMO I play... so I have been playing it for longer.
ATM I also play : Quake, Baldur's Gate 3, Division 2 & Far Cry 6.
I don't really grade them on how important they are.. & so don't have a 'main' game. I just play the game I feel like playing.
Obviously the purely PVP games like Quake only get played when my friends are on to play against.

I play a multitude of single player games and as well in 4 MMOs, in the latter with multiple characters each. It depends on my mood, what I'm playing, but with the exceptions of 2 MMOs, it is on and off with the others, ESO is among the on and off ones, because I play TES games since 2003 and ESO isn't going anywhere - as I see it, it has not even reached it's peak yet. ZOS had a rough start, but I have to say they put a great deal of work into making ESO an awesome and long-lasting game - I think it could well get far into it's second decade - not even TES6 will change that - in my mind ESO has still a bright future ahead.

Hmm, right now and for some time I’ve only been playing ESO… maybe I should have chosen the first option, but it sounded so absolute! Whenever Dragon Age 4 comes out, I am sure I will play that and probably nearly exclusively until I’ve gone through the whole story at least once.

I just recognized with the explorer event, that the normal game has too less rewards - if it would always be like during the explorer event, I would probably play ESO more, but as it is in normal, I don't feel really like it, it is too much effort for too less reward - so I play rather those games, where this is better balanced.

I know that this is mainly to sell xp boosters, but even that is a wrong move - because I would be much more likely to buy boosters, if the game would have double the xp it has now - this said, I'm not a player level 50+, so the rewards are not like most of you are getting them.

I play a lot of mmos. All of them have certain aspects they do better than others. For Eso it's the graphics. Unmatched in the mmorpg genre. As a drawback the pve balance in this game is abysmal. Never seen anything that worse in 20 years

the graphic style is actually much like TES:Oblivion was - I really like this art style and even prefer it over more realistic graphics (in a fantasy game). Combat in the main game is casual and it is ok that way, it is not meant to be challenging, but more to just play along and enjoy the story and scenery. This is intentionally scaled like this imo.

But I understand the argument about the difficulty - using more than blue gear and using sets is basically overpowering yourself and then it can feel pretty underwhelming - but for those not too much into min-maxing and gear sets, those who just craft their gear by themselves and use blue gear, it is ok and enjoyable - those who cannot enjoy it, simply overpowered themselves for this kind of content.

It kinda varies. Right now it's ESO, after a while I change and play another game.

My top favorites are ESO, Mass Effect trilogy, Dragon Age series, Destiny 2 and SWTOR. I'm very curios about the next Mass Effect and Dragon Age games.

I play GW2 aside of ESO, and GW2 is my main, together with GW1 that I still play once in a while. I was playing a lot Uru online, (as a complement to whole Myst serie), but that was ages ago. I enjoy ESO a lot, but more as a side game in which I chill.

On my PC I only have ESO at the moment. I play Elder Scrolls Legends (the card game) on my mobile, in between things, but it does not count, does it?

I find all answers very interesting. It's a lot more balanced than what I thought.

I play a lot of games. My "main" in terms of how many hours I'm logged in varies a lot but ESO is my casual MMO and FFXIV is the one where I participate in group endeavors, keep (mostly) up to date with current content, and generally do things that might be considered work. As much as that term applies to a game, anyway.

Mostly I like to play in groups, so I log on at night to do group content. If I have to play solo, I play games that are designed for solo. I have 103 games on Steam, of which Audiosurf, Game Dev Tycoon, Plants vs Zombies, Magic 2014 and Spacechem are in my Favourites list. On my phone I mostly play Simcity Buildit now, I enjoy the War even though I don't PvP in ESO, and ther citybuilding aspects.

Yes, I will probably also head for Dragon Age 4 when it comes out and neglect my guild most horribly. I've just bought Book of Travels (tiny MMO sounded interesting) and Wildermyth (guildie said it seemed like it was made for me), very different styles of games to ESO.

I have no plans to stop playing ESO, I buy my Plus in six month chunks. I would still like more group content of different sizes: instances for 6 and/or 8 players, for example. I would love to have areas instanced for a quest so that we could vanquish Alik'r Desert for example, kill every monster. I would like story mode in dungeons with extra story-related tasks and chests to hunt down. I would like decent companions. But the game is not going to change to suit me - although they did introduce houseguests, which I wanted - so I'll just go with the flow.

ESO is my only MMO game. And it will remain so. Because I don't play ESO because it's an MMO. But because it's a TES and I love the era of this game.

Besides, I play solo games on an occasional basis. Including TES but I abandoned them because ESO did a much better job. I'm not even waiting for TES VI.

ESO is currently the only MMO I play, use to play SWTOR a lot but ESO took its place for me a few years ago.

Other than that I occasionally play a mix of single player games, a lot more indie and early access stuff these days, have lost interest in a lot of the big budget releases in the last few years, nothing really catching my attention.

I find myself reading a lot more these days lately, games, TV just can't hold my attention as much as they use to when I was younger.

Zelda and a few other games on the switch. I played Skyrim on the Switch, but its a bit broken and has sadly no survival mode. Hence Skyrim on the PC.

Do you mean main/only MMO, or are you asking if people literally play nothing but ESO?

Maybe it's just me but that second one seems strange to me. I can understand not playing a second MMO but I can't imagine playing just 1 game, potentially for years at a time.

Either way through ESO is not my only game. I also play Guild Wars 2, and an ever-changing list of non-MMO games. Recently I've been playing Valheim, Breath of the Wild and Fenyx Rising but I'm always going between different games. It's not something I plan or even really think about much, I don't rank them and schedule time to each, I just play whatever I feel like at the time.

Although it does depend on whether I'm at home and how much space I have when travelling (sometimes I bring my Switch, sometimes I go back to my 3DS or Gameboy Advance because they're smaller) and when I am at home whether the PC or the TV is free.

I usually play SP RPGs; Skyrim is my main, and I play Dragon Age and Mass Effect as well. I play ESO because it's Elder Scrolls, I'd never play an MMO normally.

I like the atmosphere and lore of this game really much.
But the combat, all the non-fixed bug from years, lags, the fact that this game have one of the worst economy system (buy game, dlc or eso+ AND cash shop) and overland is boring.
I really like DG DLC though, very fun to do with friend.

I play less and less and play GW2 more and more, I find their studio much more respectful to their player base, very cheap but way more content, no fee, gifted dlc if you play the month they release, hell they even gifted back every dlc one by one since few month ! Bug are very rare and fixed fast and combat is much more fun. I just miss a good old trinity and have to catch-up on lore but that is.

I, for now, won't stop eso, but I don't trust them anymore to fix this game at this point and will probaly drop it totally if gw2 catch me totally.

PC/Switch user here, so it's a split between daily Eso for a couple hours and whatever new game comes out for the Switch, currently it's Metroid Dread which is absolutely amazing

It's still my "main" game after all the years but mostly because I've planned ahead with skipping some fun parts for the time when I'd have nothing else to do or would be unable to do what I love. Would probably be on a break since markarth if not that planning, especially considering game state we currently have for some years.

In other time I'm not really checking anything new but playing what I enjoyed in the past like reinstalling older TES games, Diablo 2/3, Witcher franchise or newly addition Cyberpunk. Looking to get back into Warhammer universe but probably won't happen any time soon if eso won't surprise with some unplayable issues.
