Treasure Maps

Last night, one dude was trying to sell a treasure map on zone chat and I remembered how idly they sat in my inventory until I destroyed them completely. The loot they present mostly useless and easily obtainable just traversing the zone they represent and there is nothing to justify the time you spend to "find" them.

I believe, a revoke for them would be wonderful, rare gold maps like leads ... now while writing I realized just get rid off the maps and enrich leads; more fun, more dynamic, more rewarding.

Only Blackwood and Western Skyrim are worth selling really, others are worthless but I know some peoople who enjoy collecting treasure maps no matter in what zone.
If rewards would be better what you find in them it surely would mke it more fun.

Kenarthi's Roost sell for 10K. But yeah, Skyrim, Blackwood, Reach and Blackreach, are the bigger sellers.

Even so, for the other main base zone maps, those Ancestral motifs still sell for like 10K each. So you can make quite a lot of gold buying up cheap treasure maps and farming the motifs to sell.

Why Kenarthis Roost sells for that high now? :o

Not entirely certain. I think the leads there for the motifs just don't drop as frequently or something. Or maybe the maps are a bit rarer since there are fewer of them compared to other zones. So the value is a bit higher. I know it took me around 30 maps to finally get the last motif lead I needed to drop from the zone to drop.

After that, I buy any that I see listed for under 1K and always turn them around for 10K within a day.

I enjoy the treasure maps so I reject your suggestion to get rid of them. For some of us the search is the reward. It's fun. (I have many of them memorized by now anyway, so it takes no time at all.)

Loot is loot, and it's not useless especially with the new collections system. And they often have leads now. Of course, I wouldn't say no to spicing them up in other ways too.

Any map can be sold, even if only for a few hundred. Sometimes I peruse the guild traders and buy up any cheap ones I find.

Kenarthi's drops four different ancestral motifs instead of the two other zones get. Thus people buy more of them to compensate for the higher amount of doubles or the all-too-frequent "no lead" chest.
