Pit Bully/Fighter/Hero achievement bugged?

I got into PvP because I wanted to unlock Fire Drake's flame dye. 1k players seems excessive for me as a non PvP player (had to switch from tank to DD to start getting kills), but sure, I can grind (first issue, the constant crashing on an xbox series s is disheartening, I get kicked out of BGs and then I can't join because "I deserted" so it's not like I can hop into it again immediately).
But the main problem is I've assisted hundreds of times, and I've landed more than 20 killing blows in the past 3 days of battlegrounds (I know, the medals are there to tell me how many kills I've gotten). I'm sure I've done more than 10 kills in a single match.

And yet the achievement says I've only defeated 4 opponents...

my leaderboards definitely say I had 7 kills and like 20 assists

Is there something I'm missing? Am I supposed to kill them from start to finish on 1v1s? How does anyone progress this? Is it even working?

Yes it's bugged.

Testing a fix on PTS now.
