Quest marker bug

In Leyawiin to do the dailies and the quest markers both point to the nearest city gate. Nothing appears on the map until I actually go out the gate. Surely I should be able to see the quest locations on the map straight away? That way I can just jump from the wayshrine close to the quest givers and go there directly, or as near as possible anyway. I'm sure that's how quests elsewhere work.

This has been happening for a while. It also happened in Skyrim. It is a pain.

In that case they'll already know about it and I definitely shouldn't hold my breath then?

It was really annoying at first, yes. But after a week or so, I knew exactly where each daily was, and at that point I could just use the Leyawiin wayshrine to get immediately to the right wayshrine close to the delve or WB. Eventually you'll remember which wayshrine for what. The most awkward to get to IIRC is Doomvault Porcixid. Hutan Zel is the nearest wayshrine and it's still a long run. I got to where I'd use Gideon and run east across country from there.

There's an easy workaround: in the quests page, there's a "show on map" link. I'll use that if the quest marker just says "go to the nearest city gate".

It's happening because in the new dlcs they making the main city a separate instance so the quest marker are showing the exit from the instance.

So called performance improvement, although I suspect it's actually detrimental to the performance as now all porting in/out of the town (which is happening a lot seeing that this is the quest location) results in a character/instance load what is a computationally expensive operation.

This always happens when there is a gate.

I also wish they would get rid of the secondary quest marker (optional talk to a character) once you are out of the city. It's very confusing to be out in the world or in a delve and still see that.

That just shows the gate for me.
