I personally would like to change it from "kill an enemy" to "stun an enemy"

This way if I go into a huge ball zerg and hit dawnbreaker of smiting, it will give me the almost full stacks.

I'll be taking almost 2k oblivion damage per second. That would feel like a great risk vs reward.

If it's a 1 v 1, stunning can only happen maybe every what? 8 seconds? so in a sense there's an 8 second CD to get the next tick.

Killing an enemy in 10 seconds is impractical...UNLESS you are a ganker which doesn't need any more strenght, ride the wave of a zerg or are fighting weak monsters in pve.

The set is more worthless now than what it was before. If there is ANYONE who is having success with Pelinal in its current state please tell me NOW so I can be swayed.


Now we could change it back to it's original way and put "Makes your weapon and spell damage equal, whatever is the higher of the two AND Makes your stamina or magica equal, whatever is the higher of the 2. "

There is probably a mythic I am forgetting that would make this too op. I am still running sets pre mythic.

I'll wait about 3 months then it's off to the destruction table for Pelinal. I can't have trash cluttering my valuable space.


New Moon Alcolyte is junk. There is Zero reason why anyone would use that set and get a 5% cost. Unfortunately I golded that and it's going to have to take valuable space. There are far better sets that give stats better than NMA and doesn't incur a cost. I mean come on 150-200 Weapon damage less buffed? I'll take the hit over NMA. All these other sets like fury, truth, ravaging, briarhart, etc are gimmicks. There are sets that give you static stats and not have to deal with the BS of it moving up and down. I felt so stupid farming truth just to find out again it was only 150-200 weapon damage more than my static stats build.

So now that there is a HARD CAP on stat builds....you realize we must get these proc sets and special 1 piece sets to that do more damage. That means people without it, lose. No amount of skill will overcome having sets that give a 6th or 7th skill that costs no slots and no stat AND an extra 3 or 5 set that costs only one slot.

What am I saying? I knew this...a lot of sets are not good anymore.

Pelinal is an on paper change that looks cool but does absolutely nothing.

How many more times is ZoS going to revamp sets to do more of nothing or not update them at all? In my eyes, they to keep them more competitive to the new stuff they put out.

Now that question may be premature because ZoS said they are revamping the sets for the inclusion of hybrid builds. I will warn you, if you think changing things a little bit here and there is the solution. You will be wrong. You'll have a lot of on paper looks cool but in practice is no better.

    Pelinal is designed for grinding in Skyreach or in any grind spot. It's REALLY great, but in other situation it's useless

    nma is excellent. for me the 5% cost is mitigated by 14% extra damage and 23% extra penetration plus the fact that passives give 15% cost reduction....

    1. Love the name
    2. I don't see pelinals having a place in PvP, when up front damage is much more viable
    3. I find pelinals melts 4 man content, particularly when combined with a set like vicious ophidian, that buffs speed on kill. You can easily grab your first kill, pull all the trash to the boss and proceed to lay waste. I've cleared dungeons by myself faster then some organized groups.

    I thought you were talking about Glorious Pelinal Whitestrake, not some stupid set. Also, how is our lord Pelinal Whitestrake not practical? He literally slaughters anything that has pointy ears. That is practicality at its finest.

    There are lots of sets that are very niche and even more that are likely completely unused.

    I feel like the 5 piece bonus for this is similar to what they should have done with Trashian Stanglers, but I would argue it is less niche now than what it was when it just made your Spell Damage and Weapon Damage the same. As long as you can self heal through the oblivion damage 1000 spell damage is a lot.

    For example, you could combine this with a ring of the Pale Order and you probably wouldn't even notice the damage being done to you.

    I can't think of any PvP applications for this set though. Its best use is likely grinding lots of mobs for XP in Skyreach.

    Ok, today i had login to PTS and checked this new Pelinal's Wrath on dunmer stamblade, combined with Vampire's Kiss, Master's Mace/Carve and Maelstorm Daggers/Bloodthirsty aaand... it is really great. I was just carving my way through Craglorn and Skyreach without any issue. Tomorrow i will try some vet dung. Also, i would love to try Vatheshran, if it wasn't blocked (tp in blue arena are not working on pts ;p). But i think that this set could be really really top choice for solo builds next patch, especially when combine with some proc sets, cause this 1000dmg could give you really nice boost. Without a sweat, with Vampire's Kiss and without weapon glyph i have more than 7,5k weapon dmg. Very nice... ^^
