Should DLCs bring us something new?

Hi everyone! I've been watching forums for a while before desided to register here, so I'm aware of there are mostly pessimistic moods.
Anyway I always look forward to new content and excited every time ZOS bring us something new. And while Armory system IS a great addition to the game, it seems more like a natural evolution than revolution. Last year beside story ending Markarth brought us more antiquities (main feature of the year), Vateshran arena (personally not a fan but I new a lot of players like it) and stickerbook (also not bound directly to DLC itself).
So... This time I have expected at least one more companion (whoever it will be), maybe something that will hold me in the Deadlands after completion of the story. But no information from the PTS about it. Is it just me or a free Deadlands giveaway is some kind of a compensation for lack of content?

I think the Deadlands give away for those who bought the chapter, which is at a 50% discount - is a tactic to get a bunch more people to buy the chapter.

It’s smart. Get more content for less than half the price of both zones combined. That’s a GOOD deal.

As to your question are you talking about Features? Activities? Enemy units?

I personally think there is a flaw in the year long format.
I think Chapters would be considered a $40-$60 value if they included 2 dungeons as well, with their motifs - but how does that affect the rest of the year?

What I can respect about this year is that the second zone won’t feel like more of the same. It won’t feel like Blackwood 2.0

Besides my already stated criticisms in other threads I would say a major weakness of this specific game is the lack of a marketing team behind it.

In comparison to WoW or Destiny, they don’t really seem to hype up their game all that much.

The deadlands dlc has nothing to do with update 32 (armory & Rng upgrade) other than releasing the same day.
That said I think DLC zones should include something new,either skill line,a group or solo arena,or in this case a new companion to make it more attracktive for potential buyers.
However since they planned to give this away for Blackwood owners this year I am not surprised there isnt anything new apart from 3 mythic items.
